I just went to the gofundme to donate, and it had already reached its $10,000 goal after 13 hours, and fewer than 200 donors!

Main point - don't panic buy. The situation might make you want to rush the decision.... but don't. The new place needs to be suitable.

I remember having my 1920's era 8000 lb lathe moved from my shop. they chained it to a flatbed and they pulled the legs out and that broke the casting - it's wasn't easy getting it back off the ground and having the cast iron leg repaired - I had to visit a special welder to have it fixed. Fortunately the move was only 3/4 mile to my house and into my garage.

Hopefully you can get a place that is more than temporary. Try to keep that in mind. Having to do this again in a few years would be such a pain, not to mention disruptive. We are hanging in there for you Fran.
