This should have gone up yesterday, but I'm still in bed after being pole-axed by a nasty bout of Covid/Flu/Something Unpleasant.  As a result I'm a little behind on a few things.

I was in the mood for some JRPG-type gaming, so switched my usual gaming allocation for the last week or so to naughtier fare.  The advantage of playing the smuttier games is I usually get an article out of it at the end.  I was going to launch into the (sort of) recently released Domination Quest 2, but couldn't find my save from DQ1, then looked up my original review for DQ1 and realised I never completed it, so decided to replay DQ1 first.  Happily, the bugs and other problems that stopped me from finishing first time around mostly appear to be fixed.

It's an okay H-RPG.  Art is reasonable.  A fair amount of scenes and content.  Could maybe do with a bit more variety in party skills and the gem-crafting.  Humour might be a little too crude and gross out to be sexy for some folks.  Fun, but definitely average.

Full review here.

Now I'll try to catch up on the things I haven't been able to do thanks to being rather sick for the past couple of days.

I remember playing the first game and it's.. clunky.. stiff.. and extremely grindy from what I remember. Animations are super great and how you can use your MGs for travel.. and "bond" with them x3 There are great ideas and there's some rare enemy types that I'd love to see more.. but the gameplay kills this game hard for me. 4/10 for the first entry (+1 because there's a dedicated android version) I haven't played the second entry yet.

I think the combat frequencies have been fixed. First time around it was borderline unplayable because you could barely move on the later stages without triggering another encounter. They seemed a lot less frequent on the 2nd playthrough. It's still pretty average though: 5 or 6/10. Animations and skinship is pretty nice.

I know of some people who played the hell out of that game, buuut they relied on.. I think it was CheatEngine, since it's Unity based and therefor easily hackable x3 so to counter the BS encounters, they simply maxed out their hp. checkmate bad gamedesign And yush! I still have it laying around in my dlsite bench so I'll give it a go again sometime :D

Yeah, everything probably hits a lot harder than it should, especially in the later levels. I just used the ghost girl and similar vore girls to swallow everything S-sized and gave the zombie girl an attack gem with the scythe in the hope her multi-attack would get an instant death hit off for the bigger enemies. Once you recruit Gitoda (giant sandworm-thing girl) at the end, it's really easy to level everyone else up. Gitoda has a ridiculous rampage attack that hits everything for big damage and outright kills S-size enemies. Boost her AGI (same function as speed, I think) enough and she pretty much wipes the whole enemy mob before they do anything. That made grinding to level all the other girls to 30 really straightforward. I just stuck a podcast on in the background to listen to while playing on autopilot. :D

Personally, I just used AOE with leveled gems that enhance the damage attribute I am using for multiple characters and added on agility item or two. Add in a skinship for whoever the current powerhouse is and it's really not too hard. Fire and physical type AOEs were particularly effective throughout much of the game, the Kitsune was a particularly over-powered for a small character. Auto-battle a little bit after finishing an area and it becomes quite easy sans the occasional surprise attack or mimic (part II). For Part II, I also would use the butterfly girl for an AOE sleep attack, low damage, but worked in many battles. Then just swap characters to get the attribute that is either effective or non-resistant as needed. Frankly, I think the game is under-rated, it's just the damn mana-energy reduction mechanic per turn combined with stun-locks, surprise attacks that makes it annoying. But that said, in comparison to most other femdom h-games, it is still a cut above aside from Shrift, MGQ paradox, or CircleTecka games. That said, Domination Desire Banished and Succubus Covenant are also surprisingly good in their own ways (Fetish/animation and story respectively).

Nice find. Grossness aside, this looks great for those of us with a not-so-soft spot for giants. Hope you get better soon.

Domination Desire Banished is a weg with some promise from what I saw. Nice use of Daz (I think?) 3D girls with RPGMaker. My only criticism is it's maybe too deep into its specialised fetishes (feet, farts, and giants). More succubi doing more regular sex stuff would attract more people, I think. (I'm also not the best to talk on this given my own predilections for inserting surprise outright horror endings for no real reason. :D ) I need to give succubus covenant a proper look. I've seen quite a few of the Bad End scenes on Porn Hub, but the last time I actually played the game, the mechanics weren't really in place (that was a while ago). The art is really nice for that one. Monster Girl Dreams is the other Western game that seems to be making good progress. I need to catch up on that now they've added the labyrinth sections.
