ROOM 098: 2nd SMALL WAREHOUSE (NPC MERCHANT)

The stand outside the warehouse looks like it was in use when the daemon insects descended on the compound.  A sheet covers goods on the table.  The poor merchant behind it looks he's been webbed-up and cocooned in silk.  You assume he's another corpse and are surprised when he reaches out to grab your hand when you reach for the cloth on the table.

He's not undead or monstrous, just a very short and very scruffy man dressed in a messy costume that resembles a silk cocoon.

"Disguise," he explains.

This is an NPC MERCHANT.  He explains how he is in disguise to avoid the BUG GIRLs.  He also claims to have a special ointment that makes him invisible to the portal-generating BUG QUEEN.

(This is untrue.  Unbeknownst to him, the BUG QUEEN knows he's there, but has taken a liking to him as a funny little 'pet'.  She's forbidden her daughters from molesting him and tolerates him helping visitors because it means her daughters are stronger if they defeat them.  His explanation will make it seem like there's a time component and the ointment's efficacy fades with time.  It's not true.  It doesn't do anything, although the merchant thinks it does – which might be relevant if the game has any DETECT LIE type skill or check.)

The merchant will have other useful items.  The player will also be able to buy useful hints off him such as key and egg locations.

The player cannot access the warehouse behind him as that's the merchant's personal store (and home).  The game may or may not have an option to attack him.  However, this will trigger an instant game over as the BUG QUEEN summons a portal beneath the player and drops him into a giant web where a horde of BUG GIRLs will drain him to death.

The BUG QUEEN won't allow anyone to harm her 'pet'.

ROOM 097: 1st SMALL WAREHOUSE

The door to the first warehouse is hanging off the hinges.  You slip inside and immediately gag on the odour of rotting meat.  You've barely made a couple of steps into the gloom before a buzzing sound behind you alerts your attention to a BUG GIRL intent on ambushing you.

FIGHTFUCK: BUG GIRL

The BUG GIRLs are the lesser workers of The Nest.  They are the usual monster girl insect girl, so pretty face, shoulders, arms and naked boobs of a sexy human woman, then everything going a bit insectile below that.  These are a weird mix of bee and ant, but also with the silk producing abilities of spiders on top.  They will try to web the player up and drain their 'fluids' with blowjobs, regular sex, and weird tail abdomen sex.

Overall, they're pretty weak, but later on the player will likely encounter them in larger numbers.

After the player has defeated her, he will have the option to search the warehouse.  This will cost time.  This warehouse primarily dealt in meat and other perishables, which have long gone off.  The loot will be fairly meagre.

ROOM 096: COMPOUND

You walk across the compound.  It's eerie and quiet.  You hear a buzzing sound overhead, but when you look up you see nothing.

The stands out in front of the small warehouses stand idle.  One has the webbed-up corpse of a man slumped next to it.  The pathways between the small warehouses are unblocked aside from weeds.

This is just to build a bit of atmosphere.  Depending on how the navigation system works, the compound will likely have a number of empty nodes with a time cost to walk between them.

ROOM 095: COMPOUND (ROOFTOPS)

Using the ladder you're able to get up onto the roof of the first small warehouse.  This gives you a vantage point to look across the warehouse roofs.  The admin building at the back is too high for you to see the roof of.

On top of the 2nd small warehouse rooftop you see what looks like a webbed-up corpse.  On top of the 4th small warehouse rooftop you see an egg.  Over on the other side you see that one corner of the large warehouse roof has fallen in.  This might allow you to gain access to the upper level.

If the player took too long, the egg will have hatched and a BUG DAUGHTER will fly across to fightfuck them.  The 3rd small warehouse roof is also one of the random locations for later eggs, so if the player is unlucky and really took their time, they could be fighting 2 BUG DAUGHTERS (they will fight one after the other rather than at same time).

This level is slightly out of sequence at the moment.  I had the idea for the ladder and rooftops first, then the necessity to lock areas of the compound off (workshed and admin building front entrance).  The key to the admin front door will be located in the upper level of the large warehouse, which is only accessible from the collapsed roof.  The key to the workshed is likely in one of the small warehouses, but I haven't planned them out yet.

ROOM 094: COMPOUND (WORKSHED)

Over in the bottom right corner of the compound is a small stone building with no windows. The wooden door looks sturdy and is secured by a strange device.

The strange device is a sort of medieval padlock.  For game mechanic purposes it's a lock with a puzzle that requires a key item.

The player can also check behind the workshed.  There's nothing suspicious there.

The key is hidden elsewhere (to be decided where, but likely in one of the warehouses).  Once the player finds the key they can return and open up the shed.

Inside, the building is dusty.  You see various tools and items concerned with building and grounds maintenance.  The one that attracts most attention is a LADDER.

This isn't an egg location, mainly because the BUG DAUGHTER wouldn't be able to get out after hatching, and the BUG QUEEN is aware of this.

While the main key item is the LADDER, there will also be other more generic loot the player can find in here.  The LADDER is a special item.  It's too bulky to be carried into other buildings, but the player will be able to use it to access the rooftops.

ROOM 093: COMPOUND (LOWER LEFT CORNER)

You follow the inner wall around until you reach the lower-left corner (in relation to the front gate).  You come across something strange.  A nubile young woman appears to have got stuck in the wall.  Only her shapely ass is protruding.  Her butt cheeks wiggle enticingly.  There is a strange scent in the air.

You feel the urge to take advantage of the situation and thrust your cock into the clearly visible vagina.

Yeah, this is a pretty obvious trap.   While the GRUB QUEEN is on the more monstrous side of monster girl, with the long bloated abdomen of a queen ant or similar insect.  The very tip of it does resemble an appealing butt and vagina, especially with a little illusion magic and pheromones to sweeten the deal.

If the player chooses to do the naughty thing, some of the illusion will dispel and he'll realise the QUEEN GRUB has extruded the tip of her abdomen through a portal and the player has just shoved his dick in it.  She'll take over and suck another ejaculation out of him.

Unlike the ones at the start, this will come with a slight HEALTH drain.  Worse than that, it will apply another debuff (random this time) and another egg will be laid somewhere in the level (at a spot the player might have already visited).

Even if the player doesn't want to, they might be compelled to depending on their current AROUSAL and whether they can pass a modified WILL check.

This won't be the first trap the GRUB QUEEN sets for the player...

ROOM 092: COMPOUND (FRONT GATE)

Back at the gate and the SUCCUBUS COMPANION leaves you with a hint that the GRUB QUEEN will likely be underground somewhere.  You don't see anywhere that leads underground.  The compound is large and surrounded by a wall.  There is a shed to the right.  Ahead on the right you see various warehouse buildings.  In front of them, stalls.  On the left a long building.  At the back another large building.

It's too quiet.

Layout of this might be a little sketchy and subject to change.  I did do some research to look up old trading posts (the best equivalent I could think of for a medieval industrial zone), but couldn't find good floor plans for reference.  There will be some winging it.

ROOM 091: WELCOME TO THE NEST

It's a new month, therefore we're off to a new region of Ur-Carnosa.  As to how the different regions work, I'm thinking of similar to the Dark Souls type games.  The first region leads to a hub that opens up a choice of regions, but with further regions inaccessible until the way is opened up to them (eg the slime girl sewers is opened up after defeating the KRAKEN SCYLLA).  This is all brainstorming, so the ordering of the areas might switch around.

April's region is an industrial area.  The historical setting for Ur-Carnosa is a Medieval fantasy cityport, so 'factory' is the much older definition – a kind of trading post.

You arrive at the warehouse district of Ur-Carnosa.  This is where wealthy merchants used to store their goods for either export or import.  Most fell into disuse when the lust daemons took over the city.  Some are still in use, but are heavily guarded and it's best not to think about what is being traded.  This complex is derelict, and should provide a safe route through to [insert region later].

At least you thought so.

You meet the SUCCUBUS COMPANION at the gate.  She is frowning as if something is not quite right.  She shouts a warning as you step through the gate, but it's too late.  A portal opens up beneath your feet and you're transported to a dark location festooned with silken webbing.  BUG GIRLS quickly web you up and leave you helpless before the BUG QUEEN.

She sucks your cock into a massive bloated abdomen and it glows as she sucks a series of ejaculations out of you.  Then, after she's done, another portal opens beneath you and you're dropped back at the gate.

In this case the ejaculations don't come with a HEALTH drain.  They put a debuff on stats instead.  The SUCCUBUS COMPANION will explain what's going on.

The BUG QUEEN has taken over the derelict complex and made it her nest.  She uses men to fertilise her eggs, but in doing so takes pieces of the men and grants them to her new daughters.  This is represented by a permanent stat debuff until the player can destroy the egg or daughter and get back what was taken.  The BUG QUEEN is fine with this as she wants her new daughters to be tested before they join the 'hive'.  The BUG QUEEN is also a mistress of portal magic, so can lay the eggs anywhere within the complex.  She can also use it to find the player anywhere, so he has to play her game, or she'll catch him again and this time feed him to her (and his) daughters.

Mechanically, this is a timed EGG/BUG hunt.  The player has to find the eggs before they hatch, or fight and defeat the BUG DAUGHTER if he arrives too late.  While doing so, he will have a number of permanent debuffs on him until he defeats the relevant BUG DAUGHTER (or destroys her egg).

After jotting this down, I think this might actually be a decent idea for a separate game in its own right.  So maybe, if I want to make something smaller beforehand...

Chris

I didn't quite remember at the time what the Spider Queen's stat drain (and then reclaim) reminded me of, but I finally found it. There was a 1969 Manga/Anime Dororo where a kid had parts of him stolen from him at birth and had to fight demons to recover them. Was this something that helped influence ideas, or just a coincidence?

Coincidence. I don't know that anime. The next area was going to be either bug girls or plant girls depending on which mechanic idea came first. The egg hunt idea came to me, and then I thought I'd tag the stat debuff on to "encourage" the player to take part in the hunt.
