Sorry I didn't get a new chapter of Grimalkin done on Monday. My lovely child brought home a cold on her last day of school, and generously shared it with me. I can't think when my head is stuffed with cotton, and writing requires at least some mental capacity 🤣

Here's a quick image of Maria in cat form, though! Chocolate point Siamese cats are lighter brown than seal points, and while in reality they can't have any eye color other than blue (though the shade varies dramatically), Maria gets brilliant green eyes.

Fun fact: Did you know that Siamese cats are usually white when they're born? They get their distinctive markings when a gene regulating fur pigment turns on after birth (technically when they get cold). The nose, paws, and tail/ear tips are generally the coldest, so they're also the darkest.
