So weird that term VCR has been totally replaced by VHS player...I feel like I'm the only one who remembers.

I 100% can understand the horror of "hey we're a big corporation that can just get rid of something you like/love for monies so f*$% you" because it kind of happened to me and Transformers Animated, the 2007 cartoon that apparently has become to me what ReBoot is to Red. It used to air on Cartoon Network, but Hasbro decided to change gears, cancelled it while the 3rd season was being made, and changed it to a new network called The Hub. To add more salt into the wound, they replaced it with Transformers Prime, an admittedly phenomenal series, but also a slight contributor to the "Dark and Gritty reboot of your childhood" trend. I say slight because it was mostly visual aesthetic that plagued Prime, other than that it was basically 2 sides of the same coin: Animated was bright and colorful but also dark at times, Prime was dark and serious with moments of comedy.
