A new series! Kind of? in the same vein as the colosseum video and the neoclassical architecture video, I have finally found an appropriate title for "BLUE TALKS ABOUT OLD BUILDING STUFF"

And so, for your enjoyment: Antique Antics!

I hope you like it! :)

This video is a special wedding-related video, with a topic as chosen by Cyan

Antique Antics: The Doge's Palace

To celebrate my marriage to my Darling Wife Cyan, I asked her to select this video's topic. Now, given she chose Venice, I wonder who truly gave the gift to whom? SOURCES & Further Reading: "A History of Venice" by John Julius Norwich, "Francesco's Venice" by Francesco Da Mosto, "Venice: City of Dreams" from Rick Steves' Europe, and perhaps literally the most fun source I've ever stumbled upon: a 17-page document from the actual Museum of the Doge's Palace in Venice, explaining the history of the building and the collections inside. The bottom of their building-history webpage has a link to download the magnificent full-PDF, enjoy: https://palazzoducale.visitmuve.it/en/the-museum/doges-palace/the-palace/ Our content is intended for teenage audiences and up. I know this is late but @Blue if you see this, your excitement for Florence convinced me to stay an extra day when I hopefully take a trip to Italy next summer. Grazie for everything.

I'm sure you'll have a fantastic trip :) in addition to the typical stops (Duomo, the Uffizi gallery and all that), be sure to check out San Miniato Al Monte for a great church and the best view of the city, and then take a look at the Medici Chapels in San Lorenzo, and stroll through the Boboli Gardens behind Palazzo Pitti. I hope you have a great time :) send us a Patreon message or an email after you get back to let us know how your trip went! I'll be traveling vicariously through you. -B
