SPRING SEASONAL UPDATE! (Patreon)
Content
Hello Everyone, we hope you're doing well and staying healthy. As we hop on into April and the start of Spring, we want to recap our first quarter of 2020, as well as give you an idea of what to expect from us in the next few months!
First off: Everything is wack, but we want you all to know that OSP isn't going anywhere. We've been at this Working From Home gig for years and we're committed to giving you all a reason to laugh and an excuse to smile in these confusing times. So we want to thank you for spending a little bit of your time every week with us, and especially for choosing to support our work here on Patreon. It's because of your generosity that we're able to create content not only for you, but for the over One Million people who take joy and comfort in our videos.
This past week, we augmented our weekly videos with the "OSP Spring Break" Multi-Stream marathon. Over 6 streams and a combined 10.3 Years of watch-time, we raised a whopping $31,500 for Feeding America, providing meals to families and kids in need during this current covid crisis. We can't thank you enough for your help — your contributions alone will help provide over 300,000 total meals to communities all across America. We're currently hard at work on a few stream-highlights videos (those Dragons aren't going to find themselves), and we hope these will be nice little bits of bonus content for you in the coming weeks. We're feeling pretty wiped from the past week, but we hope to have some more streams for you in a couple weeks — Now that we actually have a capture card the possibilities are so much greater.
Outside OSP, Red has just finished Chapter 6 of her original webcomic Aurora! If you've yet to check it out, now is a great time to jump in and explore a year's worth of content. Aurora updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday — you can follow Red's dedicated Aurora twitter here!
As for what's next, the first thing to keep an eye out for is next Wednesday's bonus video. If you haven't already, check out Red's Sneak Preview Video, but remember to keep the secret until Wednesday! On the video front, Red's starting the month with a Trope Talk about Urban Fantasy, and another the next month on Sequels. We've also got the Myth of Typhon coming up, as well as a rather entertaining Norse myth that begins, as many do, with one of Loki's pranks getting out of hand. On the Historical end of things, we've got a look at the History of England, and a Patron-Voted topic for History-Makers: Mr. William Shakespeare. We'll then hop to the late 1800s for a look at Japan's Meiji Restoration. And don't think that I forgot about Pope Fights either.
We've also got a few videos scheduled out for our new series History Hijinks, BUT we don't know what topics they should be on. And that's where you all come in! You helped name the series by voting on it, and now it's time to vote on some video topics! I've put down a few in the poll below, so please vote on your favorites, or leave a comment about a subject you'd like to see covered in a handful of short anecdotes.
But in a nutshell — We're sticking at it, and we're not slowing down. Now more than ever it's important for everybody to have some levity in their days, and something to look forward to in their weeks, so we'll keep doing our part to make this a little more bearable. Stay inside, wash those hands, and stay healthy. You're the best community we could ever ask for, and we like you alive, dammit.
