Holy cow this ended on a massive cliff hanger!! I don't know what it is about this style of animation, but it's so cool to me and my mind just can't comprehend the talent and skill it would take to put something like this together!

So we just finished our basement and we really wanted to include a home theater. We wanted to give it a reaction test run and so this is the inaugural watch and it did not disappoint! Don't worry, this will only be an every once-in-a-while thing, we'll still be filming most of the reactions from the bed :)) I will give you guys a full tour of the theater soon! Hope you enjoy!

Cassie, you’re as invested and anxious as all of us for the next film … which won’t be for a while (definitely not the planned March 2024 release date and I just double checked and there is no announced date as of now, which could mean late this year or even 2025). And what I love about the animation and you were picking up on, is that each character’s universe has its own unique art style, making each environment and character look different. The writing, art, direction - it’s all top notch and hope it won’t be too long before we find out how Gwen and the others can help Miles and save the spider-verse.

Fantastic movie, and when I saw it at the theater I was annoyed by the "to be continued" ending, but looking at it now, there is nothing more comic-bookish than a cliff hanging "to be continued" ending. And since the whole art style of this movie series seems to bring the comic books to the big screen, it all makes sense. But I am not a fan of the trend of big movie franchises having cliff hanging endings in their movies, and there were at least 3 of those in 2023, so I hope that trend does not continue. You pay your money to go into a movie theater and you want your ending. Of course Star Wars did it more than 40 years ago, lol, but I do generally like endings. The art style and imagination behind this move series is phenomenal. For the Spider-Man comic book fan, and I was one decades ago, the sheer number of easter eggs in this movie is stunning. It was great seeing Cassie have a reaction in the new basement theater, but I will welcome the return to familiar bed!

Quite enjoyed that. I took my nephew, 12, to see it and he was riveted! He was enjoying it so much that I went to get refills and more popcorn (a rarity). So, I missed the Spider Lobby part with all of the variations of Spider-Man. This movie might be up there with The Dark Knight and The Empire Strikes Back for me.

Anyone else getting constant Youtube ads on the unlisted full length reaction? Don't know if it was a mistake to monetize the full length but I've never had the issue with other reactors full length unlisted videos before. Kind of annoying to constantly have to resync but I guess I'll wait for the ability to download the reaction.

Hey Jacob! Sorry you are dealing with this. I have not monetized ANY of the full length reactions and I've reached out to YouTube support but they won't do anything about this. It seems to happen randomly... I'm debating just uploading directly to Patreon, but I'm not sure if that would be better or worse... Anyway, the download is available now! Sorry again about that!

Wow - that was intense! It's amazing how easy it is to get fully invested in what essentially is a cartoon. Your theater room looks great. Can't wait to see the tour! I wonder how big the popcorn machine will be? Thanks for sharing another great watch-along!

All I'm going to ask for is more animated movies. If you want to start safely, Disney and Dreamworks are solid, they try to appeal to families and as many people as possible. Studio Ghibli is on the other end of the spectrum, definitely not for everyone. There are movies such as Rango, the Owls of Ga'hoole, and Pinocchio (del Toro) that are family-oriented but try to be more appealing to a young adult audience. Even if it's one animated movie a month I would love it. Thank you for your reactions.

I'm rewatching this... and it's worth noting that when Miles jumped into the portal after Gwen... he was actually abandoning his father who was about to become Captain. That means "the cake" he was supposed to bring to celebrate the occasion is even more poignant. The PiB theater is great but also a good idea to use it only once in a while. Like it would've been great for Mad Max Fury Road because that movie stays in widescreen most of the time and there are a lot of details in the film. It was filmed in cinematic way. I don't have a dedicated theater myself, I just have a big TV on wheels that I roll over to the foot of the bed! Worth it! 😄 Back to Miles... I think this movie almost fixes everything. With so many universes referenced... then it becomes "canon" that there are different versions. This means the movies "are not" the comics. This removes the criticism that the movie is not like in the comics - but now it's canon. The movies can be their own alternate version of reality, and the animated Spider-verse is also it's own thing. Oh I meant the human-arachnoid-hybrid poly-multi-verse hahaha...
