[YT Edit] Witness (1985)

Been waiting for this one and it didn't disappoint. Loved this movie in the theater and it's still perfect. Thanks to your mom for getting you to watch it

Christopher Carr

If the neighbors came running to a bell (which they might be likely to hear in an Amish countryside) why didn't they come running to gun shots ringing across the same nonviolent countryside?

Christopher Carr

Witness was a good choice to break away from the semi comedic heroes of I. Jones an H. Solo. One role of Ford's I can't handle is Regarding Henry. I worked as a speech pathologist and his male nurse made sooo many mistakes working with a TBI patient. Ford either didn't study impaired speech or it didn't sink in. As good as Ford is in Witness he was embarrassing in RH.

We also watch this I think (don't quote me) in Mass Media class.

David Woodbridge

Great reaction, Cassie! Regarding your question about why the main villain gave up at the end, I think it was because there were simply too many witnesses to his crimes. With all these witnesses, he couldn't possibly kill Book or Samuel. And he lacked the means and will to kill everyone. So he gave up.

Christopher Carr

Can you imagine Cassie's reaction if the Chief Detective had slaughtered all the people who came running to the sound of the bell and the movie left it that way? We would have heard the explosion here in Oklahoma!

David Woodbridge

Haha, very true! And if that were the ending, I doubt this would've been one of Cassie's mom's favorite movies!

Harrison Ford is one of those actors you can spend a long time watching his movies and most of them are very good. A tender hearted movie is Regarding Henry. A suspenseful movie presume innocent it is a courtroom drama and a romcom working girl. I think you would enjoy the movies mentioned above.

CG Shunk

One of the most intense Harrison Ford movies that a lot of people have never seen is K-19: The Widowmaker. True story but hard to watch. Was really surprised by him in the AppleTV series Shrinking. Totally different Harrison Ford character but with writing from the Ted Lasso bunch so not unexpected.

Brent Fugett

Also what KIND of witnesses. Can you imagine the defense when they find out the prosecution's eyewitnesses are 20 Amish people?!?

David Woodbridge

Great point! Given their reputation for honesty and integrity, 20 Amish witnesses would likely convince most juries.

The blond guy courting Rachel is Alan Rickman's psycho right-hand-man in "Die Hard." Veeeeery different roles and he's great in both.

Grégory Gautier

Last night he received the Palme d'honneur for his career in Cannes during the screening of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, a lot of emotion: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbKkXEja0wY
