Secretariat is about the greatest horse that ever lived. Sorry the movie didnt win the pool but Sea Biscuit is a good movie.

Cassie, two real-life stories that are movies which you have now seen were happening at the same time during the Great Depression. Both movies have almost identical messages. Cinderella Man and Seabiscuit. I'm a student of the Great Depression, my parents having grown up during The Roaring Twenties, Prohibition, the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl. That generation, the Greatest Generation, couldn't catch a break. The movies and literature of the time was as great as the people who endured these events. There are other films about this time-period you will like that were written and filmed at this time. The Grapes of Wrath and the Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Both of these movies are about people seeking their fortunes elsewhere. Both were books. One book was good, the other GREAT. Both were movies of the 40s and both were GREAT and have entered into the fabric of our culture. The 20s, 30s, and 40s were a time in our country that will stand-out like the foundation of our country, the expansion westward and the rise of America as THE world power. I suggest you watch The Treasure of the Sierra Madre and The Grapes of Wrath. Especially Treasure. I think it surpassed Grapes as a movie but Grapes surpassed it as literature.

Cassie, Jeff's older brother Beau has been an actor since he was a kid, but hasn't had the big roles in big movies like Jeff has. I don't think he's been in any films that you've reacted to except for a small role in Jerry Maguire as prospective quarterback Frank Cushman's (Jerry O'Connell) Dad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moRXBFT1tbQ

I hate to be "that guy" but a few times during the watch you asked if the horses are hurt or if this stuff really happens. Yes, they are hurt when kicked, whipped, and rode, and they are most often killed immediately when they become injured. 7 horses were killed right before the Kentucky Derby was run last week. Any "sport" where animals have no say in competing, and are hurt or worse during training/events, is not okay. Under this category falls Bullfighting, Rodeos, Horse/Dog racing, animal circuses, horse/mule rides, and many more. Please do not support these events that exploit these wonderful animals. Okay, back to the movies :)

Wonderful reaction - I got emotional right with you! Hadn't seen this movie in many years (probably since shortly after it was released, in fact) so was glad to revisit it through your reaction, thank you!

Cassie, don't feel sorry for being emotional when reacting to movies playing on one's heartstrings. I think many of us are here exactly because of that. For me, these are usually one of your best and most heartfelt reactions. That is why it's one of my passion projects is to make the INVICTUS (2009) reaction happen one day.

Since you seem to love horse movies, you really really REALLY need to watch "The Man From Snowy River." You will find that quite a long conversation thread has started in the comment section of this movie's YouTube reaction. A classic Australian film, it is one of the all-time best horse movies ever made. And, tragically it is slowly fading from the public consciousness. Fewer and fewer people know or have seen this movie. It would be a tragedy if it were forgotten. You should definitely react to it on your YouTube channel and help bring it back.

Love this film, watch at least twice a year

Saw it when it came out w/ my parents as kid.. It's still one of my favorites. The Story, the scenery, Krik Douglas times 2, the horse sequences, the soundtrack..Masterpiece of a film.

Was waiting on this. Just a great great movie.

To me at least, mix glory with love, and here animal sports, yea.
