I am feeling VERY old. Cassie didn't recognize Bruce Lee. If you'd like to do a drive in movie reaction, Tarantino and Rodriguez did the perfect double feature grind house movies. Planet Terror and Deathproof. There was a book and I believe a movie call Helter Skelter about the Manson family.

I’m so glad you liked this movie!! It’s one of my favorites. Also, in the novelization of this film it’s revealed that Cliff really did kill his wife… lol

Cassie, I hope you're making the connection that Quentin Tarantino loves Sergio Leone's movies, and I've seen that The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly is Tarantino's favorite. Sergio Leone also made a movie called Once Upon a Time in the West, then later another movie called Once Upon a Time in America. The title of this movie is a clear homage to those films, and it's funny that Rick Dalton is so upset at the prospect of having to go make movies in Italy -- just like the "spaghetti westerns" that Sergio Leone made famous.

Thanks, Cassie, for the great reaction! You asked what our favorite Leonardo DiCaprio film is. Although “The Departed” is probably my favorite DiCaprio movie, “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” is my favorite DiCaprio performance. DiCaprio said that the key to unlocking the character of Rick Dalton was when he realized that Rick has an undiagnosed bipolar disorder. That’s why Rick has such crazy mood swings. It could also be one of the reasons Rick drinks so much. People with mood disorders often self-medicate with alcohol. But even if one isn’t bipolar, Rick’s overly harsh self-criticism and desire to be seen and appreciated are very relatable. One of the things I love about this movie is that it shows the power of a kind word and a small act of kindness. You’re emotional reaction, Cassie, to the scene when the child actor tells Rick, “That was the best acting I’ve ever seen in my whole life,” highlights this aspect of the film. And the ending, too, when Rick finally meets his neighbors, and they are full of kind words for Rick, also highlights this. Both these moments are incredibly moving. We feel how much these words of affirmation mean to Rick.

Cassie honey you need to watch a Bruce Lee movie asap please

Alex Gorell

I hope she reacts to The Departed. It is my favorite Scorsese film

David Woodbridge

It's my favorite Scorsese film too. If I recall correctly, it usually finishes 3rd or 4th on PIB brackets and polls. So I feel like it's getting pretty close to being selected.

It seems like Tarantino fans split on how they feel about this movie. It is one of my absolute favorite movies and I’m so glad that you liked it!

Incidentally, my personal favorite Leo DiCaprio film is probably Martin scorsese's GANGS OF NEW YORK with Daniel Day-Lewis. I highly recommend it. Would make for a great reaction

GONY is awesome and Leo does a wonderful job. Unfortunately he is up against DDL who is off the charts brilliant. Bit like having to dance a duet with Fred Astaire, no matter how good you are, you'll look distinctly inferior to the maestro. My favorite Leo performance is this one in OUATIH. He really deserved the best actor oscar for this performance, but I can't take it away from Joaquin who was also brilliant in Joker.

Cassie here is a free documentary that will explain who the “stuntman” bead was fighting is. Bruce Lee, the legendary martial artist https://watchdocumentaries.com/i-am-bruce-lee/

John Murphy

Cassie, this was a Quentin Tarantino fantasy film for Hollywood types, like Inglorious Basturds was a fantasy film for Jewish people and Django Unchained was a fantasy film for blacks (in America).

John Murphy

By the way.....it looks like you missed the commercial Rick Dalton did for "Red Apple" cigarettes during the credits. It's pretty funny.

Uncle Phoenix

OMG. Cassie and Carly have never seen Beverly Hills Cop. That would be good reaction video.

Uncle Phoenix

Agreed. Very good film. Interesting side not, Departed is loosely based on the criminal known as Whitey Bulger; and in Tom O’Neal’s book Chaos, its revealed that both Whitey Bulger and Charles Manson were “probably” both participants in the MK Ultra prison studies.

Uncle Phoenix

Or maybe one of the movies about his life or one of the many movies about his teacher’s life.

Uncle Phoenix

I’m also pretty sure Cassie and Carly haven’t seen Bad Boy movies either, at least according to the PIB movie link. Such a great movie franchise.

David Woodbridge

Wow, very interesting. Ted Kaczynski (the Unabomber) was subjected to abusive psychological experiments while he was at Harvard. Some sources suggest that these experiments were part of Project MKUltra.
