Hey you hosers! ;) Still up in Canada and just out and aboot eh?!

Here is what is coming up this week, just two reactions this week plus a trailer reaction for YT as well! Which trailers should I watch for up and coming?

I can't believe how close the poll is on the top 50 drawing, you guys are such movie lovers and so passionate and it makes it so exciting, thank you for being respectful! I am going to be watching the winner at the end of this week so the poll will be closing Wednesday night.

Next week, the 24-30th is going to be the week I take off like I had mentioned a while back and not release any content that week, I'll still check in on here though. We are heading to a lake in  Montana for a family reunion  and I'm going to try and unplug most of the time.

Thanks for making me laugh everyday, telling me the coolest facts I can share with friends, and sharing your perspectives and thoughts with me. You guys are the best friends!

Just tossing in a suggestion you would love as a follow up to The Sting. Redford and Newman in BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID

Erik Daniel

Awesome. I have no idea how you pump out the content that you do. You should unplug more, and just chilllll....

So this time you are taking a real vacation instead of a working vacation. Hope you have a great time and you come back refreshed. You deserve some time for family and yourself.

I saw Thor this weekend and was completely unimpressed by the trailers I saw in the theater. You could look at the Marvel trailers, Ms. Marvel, She Hulk, Thor and Black Panther, Ant Man, etc. In the Star Wars 'verse there's The Bad Batch and Jedi Survivor trailers.

Aaron Mann

As for trailers, how about: Andor - Live action Star Wars series coming out in August Rings of Power - LOTR based series set thousands of years prior to the events in Hobbit/LOTR Avatar: The way of Water - Sequel to Avatar

Jay

Honestly, I try to avoid trailers these days. I think they give away far too much. Enjoy your break:)

Any ideas on where to stream LA Confidential? I didn’t see it on Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, or HBO Max. Surely, it’s out there somewhere.

Steve Holton

Justwatch.com has it at the STARZ Roku channel which has a 7-day free trial. https://therokuchannel.roku.com/details/862e03d3b02a5c58ada2d30c373c6b56/la-confidential?source=bing

Hey there, have you tried using this website? It usually works for me. https://www.justwatch.com/

To paraphrase the movie Canadian Bacon: "It's ABOUT. Not ABOOT. We've got ways of making you pronounce the letter O." :)

Have there been any updates on the full-length reaction for The Batman? I seem to recall there being mention of technical issues being sorted out, but nothing more recent than that...

warcrimes

2nd this, ive been holding off viewing it until the reaction is ready.

I've been wondering when the Anatomy of a Murder reaction is coming to YouTube.

On your trailer review video.... LOTR Rings of Power is glorified fanfic. It has very little, if anything, to do with the original books and movies. (For example, Galadriel was NEVER a warrior.) They even fired the one LOTR expert that they had on staff, reportedly because he kept telling them that they were screwing up the lore. I will NOT be watching it and supporting Amazon in their crap.

My_Cousin_Mose

Tom Shippey is that lore expert. Listening to the creators of the show its clear they are trying to put their own messaging and modern bullcrap into the show. Instead of simply trying to tell Tolkien's story. "As filmmakers, as writers we had no interest whatsoever in putting our junk- our baggage into these movies. We just thought we should take what Tolkien cared about clearly, we should take those and put them into the film." - quote from Peter Jackson found on the appendices for The Fellowship of the Ring. That right there is the reason above all overs why Jackson's LOTR films will never need remade and why they among the best movies ever made.

The trailer reaction for Nope reminded me that Nope has just been reviewed by another YTuber I follow: deepfocuslens. She is about as far from Cassie as you can imagine. I suspect the intersection region of the Venn diagram of deepfocuslens supporters and Popcorn in Bed supporters is very small. If you lie more toward the cineaste end of the spectrum, as do I, rather than the movie lover end, you should check her out on YT. I find her reviews to often be quite brilliant. It’s a nice counterpoint to the Cassie reactions. I’ve frequently suggested films here that I realistically know don’t stand a chance of ever being reacted to, e.g. Anomalisa, Melancholia, Mulholland Drive, Synecdoche NY, The Third Man etc. All these and more have reviews on deepfocuslens.

I already don't watch any Amazon originals because I just refuse to acknowledge them as a content provider. Am I missing out? Probably. But there's enough content out there already to watch. Their LOTR series looks especially dumb. Entirely unnecessary.

I avoid trailers if it's for something I already know I'm going to watch. I skipped the "Nope" trailer reaction for that reason. I want to go into that one completely blind.

If Amazon is messing up this Tolkien series the way they mishandled The Wheel of Time series, count me out!

BullyIrish

I also love both deepfocuslens and PiB! We can’t be the only two who appreciate both of them.

Michael Threapleton

BullyIrish, I feel like Robinson Crusoe, alone on the island and then discovering Friday's footprints! Something tells me we are members of a very small club. Glad to know you are here.

There is something to be said for film makers that make something interesting with what's available. As long as the effort is in earnest it doesn't matter where it's from. When I was a kid Fess Parker and the rest of the Disney folk hero lineup had it all. I believed it all including when I accidentally cut my arm with my Davy Crockett pocket knife I thought packing it in mud was what you were supposed to do. I've grown since then and I can enjoy any format that interests me. Except for Hallmark movies.

Anonymous

lol Hallmark movies ... but you might actually enjoy "What the Deaf Man Heard" even if you don't like other Hallmark stuff :-)

Bryan Fritchie

@Joon S I have Amazon Prime for stuff like free shipping. I wish there were any other company that does it as well as Amazon, but there isn't. Prime Video is included, so I'll watch the good stuff that they have. For example, both The Terminal List & Jack Reacher were excellent.

Bryan Fritchie

@Mike LL They've said multiple times things like it is a reimagining, or that they are updating it for the current day. It is going to be AWFUL.

Raj K. Dixit

I subscribe to deepfocuslens too! She's always insightful and thought-provoking, even when I disagree with her.
