Hey guys, I hope you are all having a great long weekend. I was able to get away for some R&R and it was great besides me crying into my food about Batman 89, just kidding! 😉😉

I am going to post a St. Patrick’s Day Poll this week, some of you have sent some great suggestions. Who has seen Leap Year? not my top 20 chick flicks or anything but it’s cute and probably the only March 17th-ish movie I have seen:)

We are thinking March 5th for patreon discord trivia night, i’ll let you know once that is set in stone :) Can you guys help me think of a catchy name for it?

Thanks again everyone for being here and the support and your comments and for watching movies with me!!

Ps-we are traveling today so “Glory” will be up on YT around 4 ish and here a bit earlier.

Love your faces!

If she would have seen SPEED it could have been 'Pop quiz, hot shot"

Erik Daniel

Not set on the exact day but Irish themed, I know you received 'The Devil's Own' with you main man Harrison Ford. And a Brad Pitt.

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

For St. Patrick's Day, could I suggest Once (2007)? It's a kind of love story, set in Ireland, and I think that you would L-O-V-E it!

Jason Dolan

Far and Away was definitely Irish-themed! The Devil's Own is a good choice as it is Harrison Ford AND Brad Pitt and not a bad flick. Or you could go IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER with Daniel Day-Lewis, or even BELFAST, an Oscar nominee for Best Picture this year, and likely winner of the original screenplay Oscar. THE IRISHMAN is also a good one - Martin Scorsese's 2019 Netflix epic. THE CRYING GAME was nominated for multiple Oscars in 1992. ONCE is phenomenal as well. A small little Irish love story that won the Oscar for best original song. THE DEPARTED is another Irish epic and Best Picture winner. Those are probably your best bets.

If you've never seen it, try THE QUIET MAN for St. Patrick's Day Irish film.

Name for trivia night: "Kernel-of-Truth"? (too corny??)

David Strattan

Re: "Kernel(s)-of-Truth. Looks like may be copyrighted by Nickelodeon.

I like this very much! If I was ever going to be a pro wrestler, Colonel of Truth was going to be my name!

Forgot about The Irishman also. I just saw that, and it was pretty good. 👍

Suggestion: Wonder Boys. Great movie, soundtrack, acting etc. it’s kinda a chic flic too! All the best!

Sorry to ask, but what day is the Lone Survivor reaction? I didn't see dates. I did love her Rocky 4 reaction and 12 Years a Slave broke me.

My wife and I love Leap Year. A good companion piece to LY is The Quiet Man. Both are great Irish romantic comedies. LY is from around 2018 and TQM is from around 1951. My ancestry is Celtic and I love movies with an Irish setting. Far and Away was really up my alley as I'm a genetic Celtic born and raised in Oklahoma. Cassie would appreciate either LY or/& TQM. FAA, LY & TQM make a good Irish trilogy. They all deal with a clash of American and Irish cultures.

2023-03-25 09:50:36 I liked Rocky 1,2&3. 4 seemed unnecessary; filmed and released to squeeze every last buck out of the Rocky fans. It might be me, but a franchise loses my interest after 3 installments. It's like having a party and nobody will leave when the hosts go to bed.

I was looking through a list and found this title - for the next Comedy poll maybe, who remembers CITY SLICKERS (1991) - starring two folks from When Harry Met Sally
