Finally an excuse to rewatch the rest of these movies! It’s always more fun with Cassie.

I'm curious on your take on the matrix sequels Cassie! Me personally there's really only one matrix movie, there's extended lore and video games and the animatrix but only the one movie 🤣 in any case I hope you thoroughly enjoy it yourself and I will say the highway scene is pretty legit!

Definitely watch "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (2000) for some awe-inspiring fight scenes. And "Speed" ... that should be fun.

Oh boy, all I can say is, based on this video, while I think it's already a given, you HAVE to watch The Matrix Resurrections. I know you made it sound like the response to hearing that you were continuing was kind of a mixed bag, but you gotta finish. You will want to finish.

I know exactly during the reaction when you thought that!

Zoe from Firefly (Gina Torres) and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) were married at the time of this movie I think. 2002 - 2018. This movie came out 2003.

Gina Torres has had such an amazing career. My earliest remembrance of her is in the Jennifer Garner Alias TV series and then Season 3 of the TV show 24.

As near as I can figure, what the Architect is saying is: * The only way to stabilize the Matrix is to allow all human minds within it a chance to reject it, as that (illusion of?) choice lets them feel in control on a subconscious level, even if they are "choosing" to be enslaved within a false reality. * The price for this overall stability is that a certain small percentage of humans within the Matrix reject it no matter what it's made to look and feel like. * The rate of rejection slowly but unavoidably arcs upward over the course of time, and the increasing numbers of these people eventually reaches a tipping point where they begin to disrupt the whole system. * To counter this, the Architect created a long-term recurring program within the Matrix, which creates a human with the Matrix's original code literally written into his mind and body, maybe on a genetic level. Don't ask me to explain this because ¯_(ツ)_/¯ This person is known as "the One" and presumably appears once the tipping point of awakened and disruptive humans is reached. * The One is guided by prophecy written by the Oracle and disseminated among the awakened humans, to make his way to the Source of the Matrix, where the Architect explains what's up. * The One is then given a choice, to accept the Matrix, literally, by rebooting the Matrix and then taking a new nucleus of surviving humans to rebuild Zion. Each new version of Zion is allowed to exist outside of the Matrix for generations, because the humans of Zion extract awakened and disruptive humans out of the Matrix, thus reducing disruption in the short term. I think that's right.

The Animatrix has answers to a lot of your questions. One of the stories is about the clingy teen that Neo insists saved himself.
