I’ll be watching this series in its entirety now. Her movie reaction sealed the deal!

Krusty “Topher”

So you can’t watch the movie before the series??

Cody Nelson

You *could* but I wouldn't recommend it since it takes place after the end of the series.

A lot of things would make no sense if you watched the movie. But if you watched Serenity first, a lot of things in the show would make sense sooner.

Anonymous

You can but you shouldn't. Get to know the characters first will really help the movie.

No power in the verse will keep you from watching serenity

Hey, Cassie - now that you've finished Firefly, do you think you'd like to watch The Marvelous Mrs Marple on Amazon Prime? It's a comedy drama set in the 1950s that I think you'll like

Michael_AP

She should watch Twin Peaks (1990/91) next :) Those were the days. It completely emptied the streets when it was being broadcast and everyone was going: Who killed Laura Palmer?

Dennis Renn

she needs to watch Battlestar Galactica 5 seasons Love between robots and humans and plenty of action

Hok'Tar

Yes. The new Battlestar Galactica will blow her away.

Doc Savage

Oh my GOD!! IBattlestar is waaaayyy too intense for Cas'. I would love it to death if Cassie did but there's no way she handle that next level.

Twin Peaks was so revolutionary at the time, the series should be recognized as a turning point in what a TV series might be. I know that sounds crazy all these years latter - after all, there were series like Twilight Zone, before TP, but... nothing quite so 'artfully radical.'

There's been some suggestions for a follow-on TV series to Firefly/Serenity... There are a few that make some sense, but I'd like to open this conversation up to a suggestion that hinges on 'Adam Baldwin' aka Firefly's 'Jayne'-- To that end, I'd like to make a case for 'Chuck;' a series Adam Baldwin stars in as; NSA Assassin, Major John Casey. Why is ‘Chuck’ one of my absolute favorite television series ever? ‘Chuck’ is a clever pop culture spoof— inside a character-centric action-spy parody— that’s at its core, is a soulmate-forever love story for the ages. This series is clever, funny, and touching; a tiny bit sci fi, that seems quite a bit for nerds/geeks, even though it’s really for the underdog in all of us. It’s a story of perhaps one of the most genuinely good persons ever, facing extraordinary circumstances with honesty, integrity and grace. The tone of this show is charmingly comfortable, and yet at the same time, cheeky-quirky. The writing is is primarily dedicated to developing the character arcs, and yet, the main story isn’t lost to the season arcs, even though all of these were constantly threatened to end every year, or even at episode 13 mid-seasons - (know that the FANS quite literally, and repeatedly, leveraged show sponsor Subway to save the series time after time). With this series, it’s ALL about the Characters and their Relationships! The absolute brilliance of thIs concentration on character came together as the rarest of ensemble casts whose very casting produced a collective magic so very much greater than the sum of the individuals parts. This is evidenced by the magic of the prominent pairings; Jeff and Lester, Ellie and Awesome, Casey and Morgan, and of course… Chuck and Sarah. Given these pairing relationships, you CANNOT, NOT, “LOVE” EACH OF THESE CHARACTERS! And lastly, this series has perhaps one of the greatest ending plots and last two episodes ever! (P.S. - For those who don’t appreciate the ending, and there are many, please reconsider. Think about it, the story of Chuck, against all odds, getting Sarah to love him… yet, AGAIN… is truly the greatest possible ending to a great all-time epic love story— even as a sci-fi dipped spy action thriller and pop culture spoof television series! Seriously, what’s NOT to love!)
