HAPPY HALLOWEEN FRIENDS!

I hope you are all having a great Halloween night :) This weekend felt never ending to me, which never happens, I’m actually looking forward to the fresh start of Monday tomorrow!!

Here is this weeks schedule, I am very excited about starting a new show, a war movie I have been wanting to see and the final prequel for SW!

Ok so we are having the “event” picking on Wednesday night at 8:30 MDT.

Here are a few answers to questions I have gotten!

-If you filled out the google event form, you are entered! If you haven't yet, here's the link!

-You do not need to submit your choice of movie, unless you win, then we can message each other on here and figure it out!

-You do NOT have to be LIVE On Discord with us on Wednesday to win, you just have to have done the form.

Let me know if you have any other questions in the comments on this post! I think it’s going to be fun :)

ps-Say Anything will be up tonight or tomorrow, had to push it a day with Halloween weekend craziness.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, much love <3

I watched the second star wars this weekend with Cassie and it was so perfect to watch her ask the question about Padma and Anakin... and then answering her question in the next breath. I think we all did that when we say this episode for the first time. By the way, if you noticed, they used a few lines ( "I have a bad feeling about this" and costume i.e. Padma all in white like Leia. Actually, the last three current have been some of the best i.e. the ones from 2010 onward.

What are you expecting to see in episode 3

Wally Hartshorn

No "Firefly" episode posted yet? :-( It is supposed to be posted today, right? Or am I misinterpreting the schedule?

Johnny

She still hasn't posted Say Anything, so Firefly won't be up until probably tomorrow or the next day.

Dunkirk is one of my top 5 films of the 2010s and possibly one of the top 5 war films I've ever seen. Dunkirk is an incredible film. From a directorial standpoint, I think it's Christopher Nolan's best film. Maybe the best directed and crafted war film since Saving Private Ryan. Also major props to Hans Zimmer for his work for the film. Like his other work for Nolan, it is amazing. In fact, every technical aspect of the film is superb. Lastly, I'm very surprised a Nolan film moved me as much as it did. I actually broke down pretty hard after leaving the theater. If I left Hacksaw Ridge realizing the good that one man could do, I left Dunkirk realizing the good that mankind is capable of.

I just looked at Cassie's page on Letterboxd, was anyone else surprised by some of the films she has seen? 'V for Vendetta', 'Donnie Darko', 'I Am Legend', 'Se7en' (that one really shocked me, the Brad Pitt draw, I suppose) 'Fight Club'. I would love to know what she thought of those films. Had I won the draw, I was going to give her 'Pan's Labyrinth' so I was a tad disappointed to see it there. I guess she'll have to make do with 'Salo, or the 120 Days of Sodom' .......... ;)

Jay

Well, obviously. You really think I'd go from 'Pans Labyrinth' to 'Salo' :) While I do think people like yourself can be a bit overprotective of our lovely host, there are still plenty of films I would file under "not for Cassie in a million years". Salo definitely makes that list, but the likes of 'Robocop' and 'Raging Bull' don't. And just to put you at ease, I'll be giving her 'Little Miss Sunshine' if I'm one of the lucky duo. Pretty sure she would love it.

Someone has to keep an eye open… and it’s also about keeping the channel free from gross stuff like sadism, torture, and all those wonderful things the Marquis wrote about.

Hey Cassie. Looking forward to the Discord event tomorrow. Quick question though, when you say it’s at 8:30 MDT would that be your time? Meaning it would be 11:30 my time here in New Jersey. Just want to double check on this.

Jon Johns

She's in Utah, so it's 8:30 pm her time, Mountain Daylight Time, or, for you and me, 10:30pm Eastern Daylight Time. I think New Jersey is EDT? I could be wrong.

My_Cousin_Mose

She's seen all the movies on there? I didn't think she'd seen "The Conjuring" or "Zodiac" yet and I'm pretty surprised she's seen "This is Spinal Tap" haha.

My_Cousin_Mose

Colin, It's just under "Cassie" not "Popcorninbed" https://letterboxd.com/flyawayhome/

Jay

Hmmm, I think you might be looking at the wrong profile, or maybe I am? This is the link I was looking at - https://letterboxd.com/pib1/films/ No sign of Zodiac, The Conjuring or Spinal Tap there, but it seems to have all the films she has reacted to.

Jay

Whoa, that's a Cassie doppelganger alright. But just looking at some other films listed ('Hereditary', 'Midsommar'), I really don't think it's her.

Rich Mcclure

She would like Hugo.

Gideon James

Are we getting Dunkirk this week?

Em McG

hi, I hope it was fun, sorry I missed it. Congrats to the winners!

Cassie are you going to watch ROGUE ONE? I see you're on Star Wars episode III. Here is the thing, Rogue One is/was seen by fans "after a long break" from the original trilogy. It turns out that it's best seen when you've watched too many SW and took a break, maybe a long break and then other episodes were released and were thinking -h'whuh? Then even more movies came out - and finally out of nowhere comes Rogue One (at that time the fans really loved it in the theaters). I'm just saying this because when you yourself watch it you might think uh, wut? I'm pretty sure there is much truth to this. It's a mystery to many why some love it beyond reason while others don't seem to get much out of it. Between the original Star Wars and Rogue One is 39 years. It was not an uneventful 39 years. Not everyone lived the 39 years, I mean many fans are younger, but still that is a lot of time, a lot of water has passed by underneath this bridge. Then from somewhere perhaps by accident appeared "A Star Wars Story" (2016) and it was not the same as the others and perhaps because of this it was like seeing anew that story once again and it was good and the word of mouth was good. We will not go into detail so as not to spoil. In summary, SW original, many SW movies, SW fatigue, Rogue One is a breath of fresh air, more SW until present day.

James Little

ROGUE ONE! We need to see your wholesome reaction to THAT Vader scene haha

TwistedMagoo

Rogue One is pretty much the best they've been able to do in present day.
