I never expected a movie about race cars to bring that out of me. I don't know if I was extra emotional or what but I could not get it together. Sorry, need to get those tissues on hand. I actually loved this movie, I know it beat out some big ones in the bracket, but I loved it. I loved the way they told the story, it felt fun and I felt like I really knew the characters because they were developed and played so well by Matt Damon and Christian Bale.  Its rare I cry happy tears and sad tears in the same movie but this one did it!

Caitríona Balfe is an awesome citizen of the world, and is stunning in the Outlander series.

For another movie in which Christian Bale completely transforms himself and doesn't seem like the same person, see "The Fighter" (2010) which includes Mark Wahlberg and Amy Adams.

hello Cassie, well , I like cars and driving , not an expert but i do really like them, at some point I wanted to test myself in a track , maybe someday, and I knew about the Ford VS Ferrari thing befor the movie , it was watching the Grand tour series in amazon , really really got my attention and I wanted to see the movie but for work reasons couldn´t and then the pandemic arrived...so it was a pretty good opportunity to watch it along with you....very inspiring, fun, and....sad....unfortunately real life can't be changed...so, do not worry, I cried with you at the end , I didn´t remember the end of ken....but it was worst with his son there, sometimes I know movies change details to make it more dramatic....in this case i looked it up and...yeah he saw the whole thing...I ama parent myself so...yeah, that really got me too...nowadays is kind of difficult that kind of accidents, lots of tests and lots of safety measures have been added in response of those accidents that took us such a good drivers like ken , so , trying to answering your question...is a man or machine that make a good team? is a rare combination of good engineers, technology, mechanics, a ggod leader and a good driver, if those ingredients are in good balance....you have a winner season , is kind of exciting...but in those old days it was harder, no computers and sensors in real time....much more driver and machine....have a great weekend Cassie!!!

Don't ever apologize for your emotions Cassie. Just remember that man died doing what he loved. That's gotta count for something.

Man i have been pushing this movie back for so long and i dont even know why, it was a phenomenal movie. Reminds me of other racing-movies such as Driven and Rush. The 50s, 60s and 70s where full of these heroic moments of ingenuity but at the same time politics played a huge role, not to mention for my fellow swede Ronnie Peterson aka The Superswede. Who sadly passed away after a crash at Monza, Italy in -78. One of many drivers who passed during this era. It's actually crazy if you look it up, fatal crashes occured almost every season, yet they still continued to race. Anyways i really enjoyed this movie and i have to confess i cried my eyes out as well, there is no shame in it. Thanks for another great reaction and company Cassie!

Aw, I finally got to see Cassie's reaction. I cried this time, I don't remember if I did in the theater but I'm pretty sure I was choked up. In the end Shelby couldn't say much so it was the son who said, "He was your friend." (I commented on youtube as well, I wrote about white knuckles = ) hehe.)

I've been wanting to watch this film for a while. Really glad I saved it for a watch along, as I really enjoyed you appreciating Bale's portrayal of Ken from the very first few minutes. I had very similar feelings. I knew absolutely nothing about the story but it became quite clear about half way through that we were perhaps heading for a tragic ending. So I prepared myself but I was hoping I was going to be wrong. I felt a little numb and unaffected at first, then as the thoughts of Christian's performance as Ken started to resonate. The emotional impact caught up and toppled those intentional defences. I began to feel the full weight. Ken was a special kind of person, someone who lived to test the boundaries. It's extremely sad that sometimes a pursuit like that can end in this kind of tragedy. This is a masterpiece of a film and I can now see why it beat out so many others.

One of my favorite movies of any genre over the last several years. I think sports movies are so memorable because so many elements of our lives are wrapped up in them — achievement, loss, sacrifice, chasing goals, emotional highs and lows, things we can easily relate to.. This was a great example of that. Don’t worry, Cassie, I couldn’t keep a dry eye when Ken Miles died either, never can when I watch this film. So surprised (and delighted) when it rose to the top of the poll. Many viewers of your channel, Cassie, are probably too young to appreciate the importance of Lee Iacocca. I was surprised myself to see him here, I knew he was behind the Ford Mustang but didn’t know he was involved with the racing operation. He became a major cultural figure in America in the late 70s by saving the Chrysler Corporation as its CEO and serving as the memorable face of their TV ads.

Only catching up with this one now, hadn't seen it before but it was great. Tragedy always feels inevitable in this type of film but it made it no less hard hitting here, I was welling up myself. Just to reiterate what others have said, don't be sorry for wearing your heart on your sleeve. I can't say this for sure, but I'm pretty certain one of the main reasons behind your channel's popularity is how emotionally invested you get in every film. It's great and it's exactly what the filmmakers want from the audience, so don't ever change:)

Cassie: If you would like to read a really great book about the relationship between Carroll Shelby and Ken Mills, check out Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans by A.J. Baime

I'm a emotional wreck because of Cassie

Hey Cassie, This was never a movie that I planned on watching, but I’m taking your cue and broadening my movies. I saw a recent reaction of Field Of Dreams with you and Carly and one of you said you cried like a baby when you saw this movie, so I had a feeling something bad was gonna happen, but it was still so good. Did you figure out who played Ken’s wife? She is Clare from Outlander. Cassie, please don’t apologize for how you feel when you watch/ react to a movie. I joined Patreon because your reactions are so genuine and I know other Patrons feel the same after reading other comments. Don’t ever change. Until next time… 🍿

I Heard you talking about this movie in a lot of newer reactions. I finally decided to watch it for the first time myself, With your reaction playing in a different window. I now love this movie, It's a beautiful story of how Carrol Shelby helped Ford build the GT40. That's where the Shelby Mustang comes from now. I was very emotional when Ken was killed, It made me so sad. I googled Ken Miles and wikipedia said that once he crashed, the car broke into pieces, and Mr. Miles was ejected from the vehicle, killing him instantly. It's tragic. I loved seeing the relationship between Mr. Shelby and Mr. Miles. I truly hope that his wife and Peter were okay and dealt with it. I like to believe that Mr. Shelby took care of the family, but I don't know for sure.
