Okay, I can officially say I've seen Star Wars! Everything I knew about Star Wars was from Disneyland and some pop culture stuff. This was different than I was expecting, and then I realized that's because it was 50 years ago that this came out! I didn't realize it was that long ago, which explains a lot about the movie. I thought it kind of had some of that "cheesy Indiana Jones vibes" at points but not in a bad way! I'm excited to see this new world expand as well as character stories. Hope you guys enjoy the reaction!

I see you asking a lot of questions that are clearly established beforehand in the movie (Leia is the princess of Alderaan which was blown up by the death star, the death star is destroyed after Luke launching the torpedo into the vent, etc.) To avoid confusion, just pay more attention when you are watching movies

There's no "New Hope" here to download. Only "Empire Strikes Back". Please help! Thank you!

Wow it's adorable how much you can capture but also how little you can know. All I can say Cassie is to keep watching and judge the whole series for what it is. You haven't said anything wrong, but there's so much context that you still need.

Mike Vasconcelos

Have you watched episode 1? it would have been sweet to see you watch it from the start.

KTVindicare

she's doing release order, a very viable order to watch the series

KTVindicare

Cassie, there are 6 movies plus Rogue One. Episodes 1-6 If you choose to watch anything else in this property, be warned, it's not good. You stopped at T2 for a good reason in that franchise, this series is the same.

Brian McGovern

the ONLY way to watch it. Watching it in chronolgical order nullifies the bomb shell in the later movies. Actually, tell a lie, watching Rogue One first might have been okay too. Rogue One, Episode 4, Episode 5, Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi, Force Awakens, Last Jedi, and Rise of Skywalker.

MetallicOpeth

lol how do you find this confusing...it's like the most simply plot in existence

Rem1967

To answer your question about Harrison Ford, yes, he was younger here than in Raiders of the Lost Ark. This movie was 4 years earlier.

There’s a total of 11 movies right now for Star Wars. Plus TV Shows all worth watching. Should of started with Star Wars, E1: The Phantom Menace and went from there. Episode 4-6 were made first in the 70/80, then the rest of the movies/shows from 1999 till now. I remember watching Episodes 4-6 on VHS in the early 90’s. I loved the Return of the Jedi the most then because of the Ewoks.

Well you are right about the acting; to understand Star Wars you just need the stories to make sense, but don’t you worry once you complete the 3 Classics, Rouge One, Solo, The Prequels and if your into SW shows The Mandalorian; some of your questions will be answered.

Andrew Nyberg

You should start a new Star Wars series and watch them in order of timeline to the story instead of the order they came out. 4, 5, and 6 came out in the 70s and 80s but they are out of order to the story. Watch them in this order: Episode I: The Phantom Menace Episode II: Attack of the Clones Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Solo Rogue One Episode IV: A New Hope (you already watched this one) Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Episode VI: Return of the Jedi Episode VII: The Force Awakens Episode VIII: The Last Jedi Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker

Fun fact. Star Ware resurrected a familiar sound effect that you can hear in a lot of movies. It's the Wilhelm scream and you can hear it in a lot of movies. The sound effect is from some movie from the 50's

I agree, just like there are only 2 Alien movies. To be honest, I would drop Rogue One also as non of the Disney Star Wars are any good.

The scene with Jabba the Hutt was originally filmed with a human stand-in. Then the scene was ultimately scrapped and ended up on the cutting room floor. George Lucas reincorporated the scene back into the film using CGI in 1999 (I think) for the special edition.

Travis Starnes

Rogue One is better than most of the prequals. for me, it ranks #4 out of all Star Wars movies behind 4, 5, and 3. Gotta include it.

David Olden

Close, Chris. 1997. (The current CGI for Jabba was revised for the 2004 version).

It was meant to be cheesy to some extent because Lucas based it on the old sci-fi films of his youth, though he originally had gotten very heavy into mythology that he eventually cut back on (you see this resurface in Rogue One when they discuss the kyber crystal and the Whills, which had been scrapped from the first draft). I first saw this with my dad when I was four or five and despite a horrid memory due to years of epilepsy and depression, I actually remember moments from that first viewing, it's such a core memory. It blew my little mind and I've been a nerd for it ever since. If you get a chance, watch the originals before Lucas edited them and added in all the CGI. They're much better.
