Hey guys! Just wanted to give you a quick update on the schedule for Patreon this week.

  • Chernobyl Ep 3 will be up later today.
  • Pretty In Pink will be up tomorrow (Wednesday).
  • Fargo will be up Friday.

We'll start another poll/bracket next week - not sure what the category will be yet but I'll let you know! Also, I told Carly to watch The Terminator so we can watch The Terminator 2 together. She did watch it with some of her friends and so we'll try and figure out a good day/time to watch and get it to you ASAP!!!

I'm so lucky to be part of this great community. You are all amazing and I so appreciate your support here on Patreon. 💗💗

Hope you have a great week!

Krusty “Topher”

Pretty in Pink?? I like it! Some other 80’s great RomComs…Say Anything with John Cusack. Also very underrated and very funny….Better off Dead …also with John Cusack.

Krusty “Topher”

Better Off Dead was one of the most quotable movies from the 80’s!

Mr. Killeverything

Will Terminator 2 come out in time for Aug 29th? lol. Hope you do the special edition of the movie.

You mentioned that most of your Patrons probably wouldn't care for movies like Pretty In Pink, but I think you might be surprised how many of us would enjoy many of the "older" (as you put it lol) rom-coms. Most of them were quite funny, had good stories, and appealed to both men and women. Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, Some Kind Of Wonderful, Say Anything, Better Off Dead, When Harry Met Sally, etc., all great movies. Speaking for myself, I wouldn't mind at all watching one of those occasionally, like once a month or something. Maybe you can do a poll and see how your other Patrons feel about it.

Ronny Boss

I agree with you sir. Those are all really good examples, and even guys enjoy the occasional rom-com if it's fun to watch. I think Cassie revisiting films she loves would be a fantastic idea

Ronny Boss

Can we explore some Patrick Swayze films? Maybe City of Joy, Point Break, Roadhouse, To Wong Foo, or Ghost We can go Swayze Crazy 😁

Just joined the Patreon and I agree! You've made GREAT choices of films so far but I wouldn't be adverse to other genres, especially since there's great films in all the genres! It might be interesting to have a Bracket of new genres to explore? Romances vs Black and White Oldies vs Musicals vs Sports Movies vs Biopics, etc.

Björn Von Knorring

I think this would be a good tactical move as well by us Patreons. If Cassie watches some RomComs between our scary picks and/or revisit movies she really enjoy she will be able to keep it up much longer.

Obie Brown

Cassie might get to quench her Harrison Ford thirst with the Jack Ryan movies.

Damien beatty

I also agree, although to be perfectly honest, even though I loved "Sixteen Candles" back in the day, I recently re-watched it, and the extras, and interviews with the cast; it has a lot of very cringy moments.

Jon Johns

She's having a Baby / Planes Trains & Automobiles double feature (because they both have the same scene in them from different points of view!)

AzraRillian

One category to consider for another time that might not be too jarring, would be something like Biopic/Journalism. There are a lot of really great movies about journalism that are pretty underrated overall.

Charles Mills

Maybe there should be a bracket to decide the genre for the next movie bracket.

Charles Mills

Maybe she should change things up and try WW2 movies with a strong comedic line - Kelly's Heroes, Operation Petticoat, Father Goose, The Incredible Mr Limpet, Catch 22, Mr Roberts, Ensign Pulver, The Wackiest Ship in the Army

That'd be GREAT! I'm a fan of Operation Petticoat, and may I add another Cary Grant movie to the list: "I Was a Male War Bride"?

Anonymous

Agreed. I'd love to see "Coal Miner's Daughter" get a viewing! Also maybe the lawsuit genre might be similar, fictional or non fiction? I'm thinking specifically of "The Rainmaker" right now

Charles Mills

"I Was a Male War Bride" crossed my mind while making the list, but I slipped up. For Halloween, she should watch "Arsenic and Old Lace" with Cary Grant. It is a sort of quirky horror/comedy. He's also great in "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House" which is a romcom she's probably never seen...or even heard of. It inspired "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks. After she's subjected her lil' sis to T2, she could reward her with one of those.

Celeste Collins

Westerns bracket, both classic and contemporary films..

My_Cousin_Mose

This will be a great movie to watch with Carly I think. Not nearly as heavy as Fury just awesome.
