Definitely watch the 1986 sequel 'Aliens'. Then, watch 'Spaceballs' for a certain.....continuity, haha.

Aliens! 86% less horror, 110% more action! Better humor, better ensemble, better redemption arc, better Ripley! Mommy arc that I think Cassie will connect with.

It is a bit of a plot hole. Why would the company send this ragtag group to get this alien that is basically the perfect predator? Why not a full soldier platoon with scientists in tow? Why not a bunch of androids? If you think too much, the story gets thin, but it's a good flick regardless.

I'm going to agree with the other comments here, PLEASE do yourself and us a favor and watch the sequel "Aliens". It's not a horror film, it's more sci-fi action.

I don’t think it’s a plot hole. I think it’s bc they’re expendable, and the alien needs bodies to cocoon. The objective was to bring it back (though maybe they didn’t think it through).

A bit of trivia i don't think anyone mentioned. Ian Holm plays Ash (The Robot). He is also Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings.

This was the YouTube video that brought me here, I saw Alien when I was 3 and except for when Alien: Isolation came I'd never been scared of these creatures. This is the closest I can get to seeing how an audience would've responded in 1979 before the Alien was so big in popular culture and the surprises were gone. Dan O'Bannon and H. R. Giger were such incredible creative geniuses.

Hi Cassie, by the time I’m watching this. It’s been months since you reacted to it. I saw it years ago and didn’t remember anything other than Ripley was the sole survivor. I’ve seen Aliens and now I remember why she wanted nothing to do with robots in the sequel. In the beginning, you mentioned that you recognized an actor. I know that you have seen at least 3 of the crew in other reactions. The captain, Dallas, played by Tom Skerritt has been in a lot of movies He played Viper in Top Gun. The flight instructor who flew with Maverick’s dad. Ian Holm played Ash the robot and he also played The older Bilbo Baggins from LOTR. Brett who went looking for the cat and you commented on the water was played by Harry Dean Stanton and he was in The Green Mile playing the older inmate who they used for the rehearsals. Well, I guess I’ll be watching your reactions to Aliens next. It’s been a long time since seeing that one also. If I remember correctly, I liked it better.
