Hey guys! This movie  was hilarious and great change of pace from the war movies recently. I've never seen anything like it haha!

Those of you who were younger when this movie was released, how was it perceived? Was this the first movie of it's kind (slapstick over-the-top ridiculous)? I'm so curious.

Thank you so much for your support! More content coming soon...

Wuhoo, re-upped! Going to watch right now. First I must insist that you watch the Naked Gun movies. It's practically against the law that you haven't yet.

Thank you for letting me know this was fixed! I had watched the YouTube one back before I subscribed and when I finally got around to returning to it, I was so sad to see it not working! This is such a great film that never gets old. Absolutely ludicrous but you can't help laughing at it. I found out not long ago that the entire thing was based on a film called "Zero Hour' that they bought the rights to and then just tweaked it and turned it into a comedy.

You should show this to Carley and tell her only that it's a love story.

Pleasant to see you smiling hroughout an entire reaction. "Don't call me Shirley."

Just watched your reaction to this and I found it thoroughly entertaining and it looked like you had a lot of fun as well Cassie. I notice that you did this one in 2021 but you didn't do the sequel, Airplane II. With you currently doing the Star Trek movies it might be worth you revisiting this series again and watching the sequel as it stars William Shatner, alongside the original stars from this film reprising their roles as Ted and Elaine.

Love Airplane! In the commentary of this movie they explain that on the phone with the Mayo clinic the heart is on strings and they have arrows pointing to them. Also when the captain is on the phone and picks up the wrong phone "No the white phone" he says "Oh" You can actually hear a crew member laugh after he says "Oh" Also Leslie Neilsen didn't think the jokes were funny, that's why he was able to keep a straight face. Also jet liners obviously don't make that sound, they intentionally made it sound like a propeller plane. it's basically a parody of the movie Zero Hour

Have you ever watched "Airport" and/or "Airport '75"? If you haven't I suggest you do!!! The Zumekis Brothers bought the rights to "Zero Hour" so they could parody it in "Airplane!" but also took elements from these films as well as other '70's disaster flick tropes. "Airplane!" did such a fantastic job skewering these films that the last one released was "Airport '79: The Concord" and it was filmed and produced as a serious entry in the franchise and was literally laughed at by critics and the studio pivoted and released it as a comedy because of just how accurate "Airplane!" was making fun of these types of movies.

As people have mentioned, Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part Duex are by one of the same guys who did this. Naked Gun 1 and 2 are also by the same people (do not worry about 3, it is not that good). They also did a movie called Top Secret which was a parody of WWII movies. Some people believe it is more funny than these. One of the guys also went on to take over the Scary Movie franchise. DId you happen to catch any of their credits? If you watch the credits, they have things like recipes for Brownies.

You should react to Airplane II: The Sequel

So much fun watching Airplane! with you. Thank you. 👍😀

Tim Pierce

It must be so much fun filming stuff like this

I love how even the sound of the airplane flying is wrong. The engine sound effect is for a propeller plane, not a jet aircraft. Jet engines don't go mmmmmmmmmm.

Just finished RE-watching this. Because I saw this movie back in 1980 and have seen it about 50 times, it's not as funny as it was since the first time I saw it because I know what to expect and I practically have the script memorized...however watching you watch this for the first time brings back the hilarity. If you want a list of other films like this, you should check out: Airplane II: The Sequel The Naked Gun The Naked Gun 2½ The Naked Gun 33⅓ Loaded Weapon 1 (Tag line: "See it now before they make a sequel")

We've been switching everything from Vimeo to YouTube over the past few months. This is being worked on now and should be available in a few hours!

Hey China! This is being worked on right now and should be ready to go in just a few hours. Sorry for the delayed response!

China Andronicus

Don’t be sorry! I appreciate it! Just been rewatching LotR with you. 😂 Currently on TT. I doubt you remember with so many people writing to you but I was the one on your livestream whose dad has passed and watching this with you and the joy you felt brought me back to sharing them with him. I really love this channel, so thank you.
