This one really deserves a lot of caveats and explanations. I've had this story bumping around in my head for some time, but I've been afraid to post it. There's a lot of uncharted territory here for me.

First, my main character is trans-masc. I've never written that before, and so I worry how Loe will read. I want her (him later) to be sympathetic representation and not fetishizing the condition.

Second, Loe has a sort of sexual dysfunction. This has nothing to do with gender, just something Loe has.

Third, I've imagined a bit of weirdness for lio culture. I don't know if it's canon (I kinda doubt it is) but it could be stuff that's just specific to the backwards society on Station 219.

Huh. That was probably less helpful than I'd intended. Anyhow, this storyline will have strong sexual themes and will be somewhat explicit.

If you have comments, I ask you to be kind. I realize I'm wading out into uncharted waters for me, and I'd rather not be flamed.

Loe sprawled on the couch, her legs kicked up on the coffee table and her muscular arm across the cushions along the back. Beside her, Kahoku cuddled close, flipping through movie options on her phone. “Ooh, here’s a sad one,” she said, looking up at her much larger roommate.

“Sad movie?” she asked. “Something bothering you, Kah?”

Kahoku smiled and shook her head. “Nah, I just enjoy a sad movie now and then. It’s purging to get out a good cry sometimes.”

Loe just chuckled. “Toss it on, then.”

As promised, the movie was sad, but also a little hokey and forced. Loe found it hard to really care about the characters. Mid-way through the film, Kahoku laid across the couch—paws up on the far armrest and her head in Loe’s lap. Not that the muscular lio minded, being home and alone with her roommate was really all she needed. The cream-colored lio always made her feel like she belonged.

And Nephal save her, certainly no one else on Station 219 made her felt like she belonged.

Loe set her palm on her roommate’s white belly, and when Kahoku didn’t complain, she gently stroked the warm, velvety soft fluff with her fingers. Eventually, she noticed that the smaller lio had stopped watching the movie and had turned her attention to Loe.

Unsure what to say, she just smiled.

“So, there’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about,” said Kahoku. Loe’s eyes opened wider, and her rounded ears lifted with worry, but she said nothing, so the cream lio explained, “I think I’m going to take a new job.”

“Oh,” said Loe, “I thought you loved your job at the clinic.”

“I do! I do!” she replied, sitting up slightly. “But I want… I need…”

Loe tilted her head when the explanation faltered. “What … sort of job?”

Kahoku got up and sat sideways on the cushion, crossing her shapely legs. Loe turned in her seat, sitting on one hip with her knees spread wide, like a guy taking up two seats on the train.

“It’s just…” she started again. “There’s this freighter coming through—”

Panicked, Loe grabbed both of her roommate’s paws, squeezing them a little too tight. “Please don’t go!” she begged. “Please! You’re the only good thing on this whole shitty station, and I know I couldn’t bear it here if you left.”

Kahoku bit her lip. Slowly, she explained, “The reason I went looking for this job is that they have multiple openings.”

“What? Me?” squeaked Loe. “I… I don’t know the first thing about being a med tech. I was never any good in school.”

“No, silly.” With a grin, the smaller feline leaned forward and kissed Loe’s tawny cheek. “They have multiple positions open. I’m sure they’d have something for you, even if it’s just a shitty job.”

“You want me to take a downgrade?” asked Loe. Her job as a personal trainer may not have been perfect, but at least it paid well.

“Yes, you need to,” Kahoku explained. “This station is killing you.”

Loe’s ears turned down hard in a frown. “And this ship is better? What if it’s even worse?”

“So, what if it is?” asked the smaller lio. “The ship is going somewhere. Wherever it goes, it’s bound to be better than here.”

Loe pulled her paws away and crossed her arms. “How long would we be gone?”

“It’s not ‘we’,” whispered Kahoku. “This station is my place. I can’t leave my family. After the ship refurbs, I’m going to take it back here.”

Hurt, almost too hurt to speak, “You want me to … go?”

“I do, Loe,” admitted Kahoku. “If it was just us, I’d want you to stay here forever, but you don’t have a life here, not the life you deserve.”

The big lio frowned, her lower lip trembling. “And if it’s not better? If it’s even worse?”

“Then you keep going,” said Kahoku. “Find another ship. Go somewhere else. There’s no way that Station 219 is as great as it gets. Go find the place where you belong.”

Loe started to object again, but instead of talking, Kahoku kissed her.

The kiss, Loe’s first, was divine—soft, sensual, probing, nearly unending. As they kissed, they ran their fingers through each other’s hair, caressing each other’s bodies. Soon, their probing fingers slipped behind each other’s curtain, the thick wall of fluff hiding their privates, and into the soft wetness beyond.

In a way, this made Loe feel so deeply uncomfortable that she nearly asked her roommate to stop, but it also felt so good that she wanted to beg her to continue.

Loe had known Kahoku forever, it seemed like, since they were cubs, since back when Loe was still known by the much more feminine name her mother had chosen for her, Lae. Loe loved her completely—not romantically, but spiritually. Nephal knew Loe would do anything for her, and clearly Kahoku was willing to uproot her entire life just to help her friend too.

But none of that mattered right now, only the intensely good feeling in her loins, Kahoku’s scent, the sensation of her face pressed hard into the smaller lio’s neck and the throbbing of her pulse against Loe’s lips.

And then, unexpectedly, a wave broke over her, and her muscles spasmed with delight.

Loe pulled away, scrambling backward until she was nearly sitting on the couch’s arm, her eyes wide in shock, staring, panting so hard, harder than even the roughest workout could ever make her pant.

Kahoku panted too, her ears up in surprise, her legs still spread in a less-than-ladylike pose. She didn’t look alarmed, but confused. “What?” she whispered. Loe had no answer, she just stared, frozen. Kahoku bit her lip. “Just … an orgasm, right?”

Loe’s muzzle hung open, and she started to cover it with both paws, but the strong scent from her sopping wet finger stopped her.

The cream-colored lio’s muzzle slowly opened wide. She whispered, “That … wasn’t your first, was it?”

This time, Loe really did cover her mouth, ignoring the wetness.

“It was! Wasn’t it!” whispered Kahoku. “How can you be twenty-three years old, and this was your first?”

Now, Loe covered her eyes. The insides of her ears turned crimson, contrasting sharply with her raven-black mane. “I don’t know…” she whispered. “I just never… It just hasn’t…”
