Shortly after the attack on Canterlot, Prince Blueblood (who was out of town and only heard of the attack second-hand) decided to try and woo the dreaded Changeling Queen. With his charms and good looks, she would surely fall in love with him and turn to the side of good, and net him a boost in royal ranking as a bonus!

Unfortunately for poor ol' Blue, he neglected to do his research beforehand.
