Mamma mia!(as italians say)😉 You're uploading a lot of reactions!👏🏻🔝 You're on fire! 🔥 I'm happy you're into Tarantino! 😀

Mr. Writhms

This was my least favorite of the Tarantino films, though it was still very well made. May I suggest "INGLORIOUS BASTARDS" for the next Tarantino movie? Or "TRUE ROMANCE" (Tarantino did not direct "True Romance" but he wrote the screenplay). "True Romance" for Valantine's Day? 😁

Wow, you were correct about the neighbors, which I guess you’ll know if you looked up what the movie was about. I’m not well versed on all the backstory in this movie, but a lot of it has to do with the Charles Manson murders and the neighbor in the movie Sharron Tate. I’m sure someone else will comment on it or you can google the backstory of the movie or wiki the Manson murders. This was my first time watching this movie as well, never got around to it.

This movie is full of Easter Eggs which makes it more enjoyable for those who recognize and appreciate them, but for most of us going in blind they go right over our heads. For example I had no idea the guy Cliff was fighting on the movie set was a supposed to be Bruce Lee which makes it more funny. And the odd story line about Cliff killing his wife is a reference to the mysterious tragic death of the beautiful actress Natalie Wood. Her drowning was ruled accidental but people still believe her movie star actor husband Robert Wagner caused her death. Not to mention the backdrop of the Mansion Family murders. If only Tarantino's version of history in the movie was the true one instead of what actually happened that horrible night. Fun Fact: Steve McQueen, the famous actor of the 60's and 70's, was portrayed briefly in the movie at the Playboy mansion. His grandson, Steven R. McQueen plays Jeremy Gilbert in The Vampire Diaries.

It's a movie based on real people Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie) but with a different ending. It's based on a terrible massacre of Sharon Tate (wife of Polanski) and friends ( by the Manson Family. The film portraits a "What if" this gang entered the house next door where Rick Dalton and his stunt double lived. The violence Tarantino portrayed is what those guys probably deserved. They were very cruel. However life is not always fair. "Inglorious Bastards" is very similar concept with a different story.

Another fun fact. There's a theory that all Tarantino's Movies are connected. Apparently there are 2 realities: Some movies are "movies being shot" (Kill Bill, Inglorious Bastards) and other are in the real world (Pulp Fiction, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). The next movie would be the last Tarantino's movie. It seems it will be Kill Bill 3.

Dude I don't like watching trailers before I see the movie either! My friends think I'm crazy. I always found it better to go in completely blind. For this movie though it helps to know some Hollywood historical background. Pretty much the whole movie builds up in anticipation for a famous real life event that took place in the Hollywood hills: The Manson Murders. You might've heard of Charles Manson (portrayed by the random long-haired guy who walks up to the blonde actress's house), who in real life started a cult and brainwashed their followers to horrifically murder her in that house. The blonde actress was supposed to be Sharon Tate, who was brutally stabbed while pregnant, along with everyone who was in the house with her. Tarantino's story places his characters in that real life setting and alters the events that really happened. So instead of those hippies killing Sharon Tate, Rick and Cliff kill them. That's why they followed both Rick/Cliff and Sharon Tate throughout the movie without explaining anything because Tarantino assumes the audience is already familiar with the actual events, which adds to the tension. That's also why that hippie girl at Spahn Movie Ranch (which is where the cult really lived by the way) tells Cliff she really wanted him to meet "Charlie". Other than that, this movie is like a love letter to 60's Hollywood and filmmaking.

Inglorious Bastards is one of the best Tarantino films

Peter Hudson

If you don't know about the Manson Family cult and their brutal murder of Sharon Tate and her friends, a lot of this may seem strange; but Tarantino basically inserted DiCaprio and Pitt into the situation that night in order to prevent what really happened back then. As harsh as it was, how they killed the Family members; knowing the details of what they really did makes it very hard to feel any sympathy

Peter Hudson

It's interesting to think about what the butterfly effect would have been of preventing the murders, a huge shift in cultural evolution at the very least from what we have now in real world America.

"Car cinema" you're so adorable, we just call them "Drive-Ins", there aren't many left actually, still two near where I live though. I have very fond memories of my mom sneaking me and my best friend in the trunk of the car to watch Jurassic Park 😆
