#TeamLucifer- Thank you so much for another fantastic reaction for another of my favorite episodes for season one of Lucifer!!! :) I love this episode so much, especially because it does such an incredible job showing us who Lucifer truly is and how deeply it pains him to be blamed for all the evil spread throughout the world and for all of the evils committed in his name. Which I will get back to momentarily... First... like I said above, my favorite moments are when we see just how hurt and angry Lucifer really is upon being worshiped by the devil worshipers, and being continually bombarded and accused of being the killer who murdered the two misguided Satanists, not only by the street preacher and his followers on the street outside of LUX, but by Dan, Malcolm, and sadly... now Chloe too like he believes about her, even though she might actually be the one person who believes in him. If there's one person he longs for to believe in him, it is Chloe because he's come to care about her very much. So for him to feel betrayed by her, hurts him very deeply. And you can see this very clearly in his eyes. I absolutely love seeing this vulnerable and disheartened side to Lucifer. While I absolutely love his crazy antics and humor that his character brings to this phenomenal and crazy show, I love seeing this vulnerable side to Lucifer even more. It's rare, as well as heartbreaking, and seeing human emotions coming from him is really quite unique from every other way Lucifer or Satan has ever been portrayed in other shows or movies. Lucifer's view and heartbreak from everyone always blaming him for all of the evil in the world is most definitely among the most fascinating and beautiful parts about this episode, as well as throughout the whole show. And I love his line to Malcolm about how these murders are the first time he has encountered genuine evil for quite some time. And Lucifer would certainly know genuine evil. I absolutely love it!!! And Tom Ellis is phenomenal, just like I've said a hundred times!! :) Now... I really love the overall case involving devil worshipers and them being killed in Lucifer's name, and for him. I love how Lucifer states to Chloe that the whole worshipping thing is more his father's ideal, and not his. It's kind of true in a way. And it's certainly true in accordance to this show. I typically enjoy these kinds of cases in any kind of crime show such as NCIS, Law and Order, etc... because they're usually interesting. Terrifying and tragic as well, but when done right, these kinds of cases are fascinating. However, because the Devil is a very real character in this show, it's even more fascinating to me to see everyone's reactions to and their perceptions of the grisly murders with there being someone working with them who believes himself to be the actual Devil as far as they know and who think Lucifer is crazy, or at the very least... eccentric for it. And I love Lucifer's reactions to the murders especially being that he truly is the Devil, while most people come to believe that they were killed either for Lucifer in his name, or by him himself. People such as Dan, and sadly even Chloe as he fears by the end too. I especially love Lucifer's reactions and his powerful storyline that comes from the evil acts performed throughout this case. Also... I really love all of the misdirects this episode throws at us while we're trying to figure out who the real killer is. First... we're led to believe that the girl's killer might possibly be the leader of the Satanists, then her boyfriend, and finally the street preacher, all while the cops including Dan and a number of people come to believe Lucifer is behind everything, especially when the girl's boyfriend is later found dead in the warehouse where the detectives discover Lucifer's name written out across the crates in red paint as well. And yet in the end... it's at last revealed to have been Malcolm all along. And knowing just how evil he is, I am shocked that I didn't even consider him to be the killer in the slightest the first time I ever watched this episode, even though Malcolm being the killer makes perfect sense. What a phenomenal reveal! He has absolutely become so misguided and insane to believe that he and Lucifer have become friends, that he has killed in Lucifer's name in order to prove himself loyal only to Lucifer, which is phenomenal, yet so sad and terrifying too. I absolutely love this! It's sick, but it makes perfect sense for Malcolm's character and it makes for such a phenomenal storyline too! In regards to those whom Malcolm killed... Malcolm is revealed to have killed both the girl and her boyfriend, Corazon, as well as the street preacher in the very end. My theory... When Lucifer and Chloe are questioning the leader of the Satanists, the leader tells them that Corazon was too much of a freak who started talking about making real sacrifices with animals, which leads us to believe that he hasn't made his way up to sacrificing humans at this point. And we also see the dead and bloodied chicken left in an offering for the Devil up in the attic inside the girlfriend's house where she and her boyfriend performed their own private rituals. And we don't actually see Corazon being the one to kill his girlfriend. We only see a brief glimpse or shadow of someone looming over her before he stabs her. So... I suspect that in the beginning of this episode, Malcolm must break inside the theater where the Satanists perform their Satanic rituals and when Corazon steps away from his girlfriend to collect whatever he's going to collect for his own ritual he wants his girlfriend to be a part of, Malcolm must knock out and kidnap Corazon off screen so that he can later leave his body inside the warehouse where his body is found, then steals the real dagger and uses it to kill the girlfriend, before finally carving the words, "Hail Lucifer" into her back as a way of offering her body up to Lucifer in order to impress him. And he must then paint the pentagram on the floor of the stage where her body is found lying within the center of inside the theater too. Then, Malcolm later kills Corazon and carves the same "Hail Lucifer" message into his chest as well before finally trussing his body up and then paints the letters in order to form the word "Morningstar" on all of the crates to prove his very misguided loyalty to Lucifer. This is just my theory that could explain how Malcolm is the killer of both Corazon and his girlfriend too. Because the details aren't revealed to us in this episode, this all is just my best guess. And then... I love the moment when Lucifer figures him out upon seeing the red paint on Malcolm's hand. It's scary that Malcolm has done all this in Lucifer's name, misguidedly thinking that he and Lucifer have now become one in the same since he revealed his true evil to Lucifer in the last episode. That they've become friends. Because it isn't true in the slightest. Unfortunately, Lucifer is unable to punish Malcolm when Amenadiel flies in and then fights Lucifer because of Maze having tried to kill him. Again... I will get back to this in a moment... Lucifer's confrontation with Malcolm is fabulous!! I love it because Malcolm has just become scarily insane and deranged. Misguided into believing they're friends, while also trying to put himself back into Lucifer's good graces after he had tried to kill Lucifer in the last episode. And the actor who plays Malcolm... Kevin Rankin, is a phenomenal villain. He's brilliant at playing crazy. Next... in the end of the last episode, Lucifer is only speculating and considering his options on how to handle his problems with Amenadiel. He mentions to Maze that he would have to find a way to deal with his brother in order to stop Amenadiel from trying to kill him. And early on in this episode, Lucifer continues on with his train of thought, saying to Maze that he might have to resort to an even more permanent manner. And he is holding Maze's dagger while he says it, which gives Maze the insight as to what she believes Lucifer wants from her. He might have considered having her kill his brother, but he never followed through with his thought by giving her the order to actually do so. Lucifer never actually sent Maze there to kill Amenadiel. I feel that what he was saying to Maze was more him simply working through his anger and frustration towards his brother. Maze then tries to convince him to return home if he isn't happy, and when that fails, she attempts to kill Amenadiel until she stops herself... all on her own because she has developed feelings for him like he has for her, whether or not either one of them are able to admit it. I believe that Maze takes Lucifer's ramblings about sending Amenadiel home if need be to be an order all on her own. And of course Lucifer is angry with his brother for wanting to kill him and especially for using Malcolm, as well as Chloe as far as he believes he had in order to do it, as he believes that his vulnerability around Chloe is because of Amenadiel. I believe Lucifer is only venting to Maze because he's grown tired of Amenadiel trying to kill him, all so he can send him back to Hell, where Lucifer refuses to return to ever again. And after all Lucifer has been forced to endure... who can really blame him? Lucifer is just deeply hurt and angry for being seen as all evil, especially by his own brother when he's not. Especially upon Amenadiel blaming Lucifer even for the innocent deaths now on his own head upon him bringing Malcolm back from the dead. I hope all of this makes sense. Also... how dare Amenadiel for getting angry with Lucifer for supposedly sending Maze to kill him, when Amenadiel has been plotting to have Lucifer killed since he first learned that Lucifer is now vulnerable. Talk about a hypocrite. I like Amenadiel as a character for the most part, but a big part of me is really angry with him for continuing to act like he's perfectly innocent after everything he's done, and especially for blaming Lucifer for Malcolm's actions, given that he was the one who pulled him out of Hell. And yet it does make sense for his character. Amenadiel is an angel on a mission from God and is therefore righteous no matter his actions. This is how Amenadiel sees himself and what he believes of all angels. While in his eyes, Lucifer is the epitome of all evil and therefore he justifies all of his actions because he's trying to send the Devil back to Hell as Amenadiel believes Lucifer deserves. Now, back to the fight between Lucifer and Amenadiel... I think that this fight is amazing! Shot lived, but still amazing. I actually really love the way it is shot and filmed. I think it is shot this way in order to show just how powerful these two angels really are, especially upon adding the sound effects too. I really love the overall battle between brothers. I love seeing how powerful both of them are and seeing the destruction left behind throughout Lucifer's penthouse. And I love seeing that both angels are able to be beaten and injured through fighting one another too. In spite of them both being immortal. This is a fantastic fight scene. And I certainly wish it had lasted a bit longer too. And in regards to why Lucifer bleeds upon his brother beating him in their fight... Earlier in this episode, Lucifer tells Chloe that angels can hurt other angels, which is the reason of course for Lucifer thinking briefly that Chloe might be an angel herself. But because angels have the power to hurt other angels, this is simply why Lucifer is now capable of bleeding. They can hurt and wound one another, but they can't physically kill one another as far as I know. At least not without the demon blades forged in Hell that Maze carries, or possibly another special kind of forged celestial weapon powerful of killing an angel. This is partly the reason why I suspect Amenadiel doesn't ever try to kill Lucifer himself. But mostly I feel his inability to try to kill Lucifer himself is because deep down, a part of him does believe that doing so is wrong. And I feel there's also a small part of him who still loves his brother as well, which I suspect is another reason why he's hurt by Lucifer sending Maze there to try to kill him too. As for Amenadiel's relationship with Maze... in spite of this fight between the brothers that comes out of it, I don't care at all for the idea of Maze and Amenadiel being together. It's just too weird and kind of twisted, especially since Amenadiel is an angel and Maze is a demon. But more so... Maze deserves a life outside of being trapped solely in the service of Lucifer, or to help Amenadiel. And I don't like that Amenadiel is foolish enough to fall for her knowing that she's a demon. It just feels very out of character for him. It's in Maze's character, yes. Just not his, so I don't like them together in the slightest. And while Maze gets angry with Lucifer and Amenadiel for using her, which in a way they both do, in this case... she is the one who chooses to act first. Amenadiel used her more than Lucifer has really. At least in these circumstances. Amenadiel came to Maze asking her for information about Lucifer so he can learn what might make him vulnerable, while feeding on her jealousy over Lucifer's infatuation with Chloe and his newfound vulnerability. Whereas Maze goes to Amenadiel to sleep with him in the hope of becoming Lucifer's informant and to get back into his good graces, all without Lucifer ever asking her to. So... I honestly don't feel badly for Maze at all as far as this storyline is concerned. Besides... she betrayed Lucifer first. I love the ending when Chloe comes into LUX in order to be there for Lucifer and to assure him she believes in his innocence. Unfortunately, Lucifer doesn't have the time needed to try to explain himself to her once Lucifer goes off about what's paining him, before chaos breaks once more. I love, love, love how Lucifer opens up to her about how hurt he is by everyone's accusations... now and throughout all time upon him constantly being accused of everyone's wrongdoings simply because he is the Devil. Unfortunately, Lucifer is interrupted once again when Chloe finds the street preacher's body with a bullet wound to his head lying on the ground beside his bar, left there by Malcolm who really killed him in order to now frame Lucifer out of spite and anger upon Lucifer rejecting him and turning on him after Malcolm has come to believe he and Lucifer were friends. And not just for the false preacher's death, but also for the other two deaths as well, after he realizes that all he did for Lucifer was not appreciated by the Devil. And with his name being all over the crime scenes, as well as everyone seeing Lucifer threatening the street preacher on the news, of course it would be enough to make the cops all believe Lucifer is the killer. Yikes!! This is not good! I suspect that Malcolm kills the street preacher simply because he is a victim of opportunity. Most likely, Williams walks into LUX in order to confront Lucifer again and Malcolm surprises him upon him coming down into the nightclub from the penthouse after his fight with Lucifer, then shoots him in his head as he is about to run. Knowing he could pin the preacher's death on Lucifer after Lucifer has rejected his loyalty and gifts. Malcolm is a psychopath. Not just from his time trapped in Hell, but I get the sense he's always been a bit eccentric, given that he had been corrupt well before before Dan shot him. In the end... Chloe then pulls her gun out and points it at Lucifer because the police swarm in and she has to show she's not blind to what she fears might be the truth about her partner being a killer just because she cares about him. She has to show she is able to remain impartial. With the cops all charging into LUX and Chloe continuing to point her gun at Lucifer while she's looking at him with fear and worry in her eyes, he's looking at her with hurt caused by her betrayal in his own. And lastly... I believe that Dan hasn't confessed to anyone about all that Malcolm's done, because I get the sense he has been trying to find the courage to tell Chloe the truth first. However, Chloe's clearly been avoiding him the last three weeks ever since he supposedly broke up with her through a text. She shows this as she brushes him off at the crime scene in the beginning of this episode when Dan attempts to talk to her about Malcolm, as well as throughout the episode too. Yikes! What an episode!!! I am so excited for you to see all that's to come!! Just you wait!!!! Thank you so much once again for your reaction for this fantastic episode, Magy!!!
