Burp Reaction Headcanons - Ash Ketchum (Patreon)

Next up, we have the kid who took thirty years to become a Pokemon Master.

Ash Ketchum (Pokemon)

• Ash is one of the more canonically gluttonous lads in anime, having stuffed himself into an immensely bloated stupor on dozens of occasions throughout the Pokemon series.  He loves eating as much as his belly can pack and isn't the least bit ashamed or embarrassed about it.  As such, when Ash burps, he burps loudly, shamelessly, and frequently.
• Without fail, Ash always lets out a large burp after a big meal, and responds by sighing contently, giving his belly a few hearty pats and muttering, "Ahhh, man, that hit the spot!"
• If he's so stuffed that he had to unzip his vest just to give his big, round gut some much needed breathing room, Ash will sit there, rubbing his belly with both hands as a long, throaty belch rolls out of him, and just moan in satisfaction afterwards without shame.
• Around Brock, anytime Ash burps, he's very casual and "guy-ish" about it, just burping loudly, sighing and carrying on while Brock either ignores it or just rolls his eyes.
• When it's just him and Pikachu, any time he burps, he'll smirk and say, "Heh, that was a big one, huh Pikachu?"  To which the electric rodent is always amused.
• Pikachu sleeps on Ash's stomach a lot, so if he's really bloated, Ash's belly becomes like a waterbed for Pikachu, and if he burps, his belly ripples with Pikachu atop it, which always makes Ash laugh when Pikachu seems startled but doesn't get too annoyed with him.
• Misty, in contrast to the others, always scolds him for his utterly abhorrent table manners, but Ash just smacks his lips, grins and says, "Can't help it, the food was WAAAAY too good..."
• He's got a bit of an impish side too, so if Misty or someone else tells him to excuse himslf, Ash will either just burp even louder and unapologetically mutter a "s'cuse me" or he'll literally burp the words out and grin even wider.
• Usually, when Ash lets out a big burp, he'll shamelessly pat his belly and sigh contently or mutter, "Whew!  That was a good one, heh!"
• His burps are inherently large due to how frequently he overindulges, but also because he has a fast metabolism.
• He also has zero self control, which is why he eats so much anytime he's offered food, and why if he has a soda, he'll chug it down as quickly as possible.
• After downing a soda, he'll let rip a HUGE burp, and groan, often hitting his chest to clear his windpipes or to knock loose a sizable afterburp.
• Ash has burped publicly in restaurants on numerous occasions.  When he does, he just smacks his belly and mumbles about how full he is while Misty, Brock and Pikachu share in the embarrassment Ash should be feeling but doesn't.
• However, if Ash lets rip an absolutely COLOSSAL belch in a restaurant after eating way too much, he'll stun the entire restaurant silent, and chuckle sheepishly before scratching his head and muttering a nervous, "...Eh...h-heh...s-sorry 'bout that..."
