Designing Gilly (Patreon)

Max's boss Gilly has been a tough character to nail down, design-wise, but I find he's trending in THIS general direction.

A prominent landlord who owns the most popular (and expensive) club in the heart of Kuserra's downtown, always in my head I imagined Gilly as this sort of sleazy, fast-talking, business-oriented individual. Originally I envisioned him as a comically short and fat creature, but as his role in the story took on a more serious tone, he sort of evolved into a more slender, conniving, snakelike appearance.

Naturally, my thoughts trended towards this sort of catsnake hybrid, and I decided to give him a set of longer ears and some more animalistic hindquarters.

I'm likely going to keep iterating on this design for awhile yet, but I feel like it's getting closer. We will probably get to meet Gilly in the story before the end of the year, and... I think... you are probably going to hate him.
