The huntress goes after whoever she puts her mark on which is why she went after Beau before everyone else. Once the person her mark is on is slained aka Beau she goes after any other vampire in her path. Which Damon was in her way but then Stefan took the hit but the huntress was taken aback by his presence so she didn’t have time to drive the sword through Stefan it only marked him. So he was able to get away, but she will have the urge to find him and kill him that’s why he has to stay on the run.
