I reeeeaaally love this episode. The scene where Damon and Bonnie are holding the ascendant and they revisit that little dialogue they had in the last ep. of s5. Also the moment when Damon reunites with Stefan, they couldn't have done that better I think, the way Stefan reacted and the hug were just perfect. With the little fight between Stefan and Ric, I do understand both sides. I understand that Stefan wants to start over because Damon's death is too present when he's around his old life. But also he did lie to them. He lied to Ric that he was still searching for a way to bring Damon and Bonnie back, he could have just told Ric that he can't deal with that anymore. Plus Stefan did ask Alaric to compell someone else so he could start over, Elena did ask to be compelled herself. So there technically is a difference in choosing something for yourself or to manipulate someone elses mind.
