tl;dr - I've been working on the harem ending and the victory suite this week. Also, I'm very happy about the feedback I got last week, keep it up!


This week's image

This week I had some trouble working out which image to show off, since right now I can really not show you much of the work I've been doing without substantial spoilers. I can't really give you any context for this scene but you can draw your own conclusions. If you're interested this bedroom set is one I recently picked up thanks to passing the $1250 funding goal and changing my spending policy for buying new 3D assets.

Working on the harem end and victory suite

So the goal at the moment is pretty much just to finish up the harem ending and the victory suite. I am pretty close to finishing the harem ending, so then it will just be the victory suite that I need to finish, and that won't be too hard to get done. There's quite a bit of content in the victory suite but it's generally pretty simple to present.

Actually, there's not an overwhelming amount left to do, although that's compared to the seemingly unending workload I've had in the past. I'll probably go into the details of what's left in my next public update, which I will put out before Christmas, to give you a clear idea on exactly how close I am to finishing. I honestly don't know myself exactly how close I am to finishing but I'll work it out and tell you soon. :)

Suffice to say it's an achievable goal now. There's only a handful of pictures I have left to create, a small amount of writing, then some programming and a lot of testing. I really wanted to release the game this year for the stupid and vain reason that I'd like the chance to be considered in the 2016 Erin Awards, but I don't think that's realistic. Oh, well. The real success is people actually liking the game and supporting me, so I guess that's not anything to worry about. I did really think I'd have a release out this year, though!


Feedback last week - how challenging is the game?

Thanks very much for your feedback last week, it's been helpful. I get a really good response from you guys about difficulty and balance for the game. Honestly, I would still like to hear more opnions and experiences from other players because I really can't tell very well what it's like to play the game apart from my own testing, and so I have to make guesses at the level of challenge.

Basically what I'm going for is a difficulty level where it is relatively easy to get, in one run of the game, two of the girls. It should also be pretty straight-forward to get one of the maids but harder to get the other women. Side puzzles should take some exploration and experimentation, but nothing should be hugely taxing once you've figured it out. Getting all 20 collector cards won't be possible except in harem mode, but you could definitely get most of them even in a harem run.

So anyway, if you've got an opinion on how hard the game is - whether some things are too hard or too easy, or if I've got it right - please continue to let me know! Also, tell me if anything isn't good or could use improvement; I've still got some time to improve the game, particularly if some aspect of it stands out as noticeably weaker than the rest of the game around it.
