tl;dr - I'm on holiday so I don't have that much news to report right now - just a bit of writing. Instead I decided to talk about the recent end of Kimochi and give you (I think) a nice Fumi pic.

This week's image

This is one of the new night service pictures. I don't know if I need to say too much about it, but it should show up in the next alpha, if you're looking forward to this scene.

On holiday, but writing

As I mentioned last week I'm on holiday right now, but trying to do a little bit of writing in my pen and paper notebook when I've got the time and inspiration. This may mean I'm a little hard to get in touch with because I won't always have wifi access, but I'll try to keep an eye on my email anyway.

What I've actually worked on is some of the physical descriptions of the girls  (which take a fair bit of time ) and I've worked on developing a new short game idea that I'm quite fond of. I'll tell you more as it progresses.

Fall of Kimochi

As some of you will know already, several months back I uploaded my games to an exciting new platform for adult games distribution called Kimochi. I had high hopes going forward for the potential in this platform, although I had not quite worked out how to potentially incorporate it into my strategy yet beyond using it as a convenient means of file hosting and for promoting my games to new audiences.

Well, unfortunately the news this month has been that the Kimochi business model isn't sustainable and they're closing up shop. I'm sad for the people involved and it's also a shame for me, because it seems to close off this potentially significant opportunity. One of the big problems with creating and distributing adult games is just getting my work out to a wide audience - there's no real centralised marketplace for people to discover games and so I can't release and promote the game in any one place where I can expect it to have an impact.

Mostly my distribution strategy relies on forums like the Shark's Lagoon and the Legend of Krystal forum. While these places are great and have really active and strong communities it's not exactly ideal for me to have to drop in posts in 10 different venues and hope that people will keep talking about the game to bump the threads upward. :) I personally would really like there to be one big central adult games forum with all the functionality of the best forums out there, a strong community and moderators who didn't have to think about the interests of the people hosting the forum (which causes some issues in a few places) but that appears to be a pipe dream for now. I wish that Lewd Gamer would do something like this, but they don't seem to be too focused on forum building right now and when they last gave my work a bit of coverage it didn't seem to do very much. (Maybe it helped a bit, I don't know. I don't have access to good site analytics.)

Any thoughts or suggestions? Please leave them in the comments below!

Doing a good promotion isn't easy, and even doing a good game cannot be sufficient if too little people know of it. I have seen that newsground is a good place, but you don't do game that can work there and i cannot think other sites. The forums are better places for who creates games that can be updated every 1 or 2 months so the threads have more visibility. With a game more linear like your crossworlds series would be possible to add a part of the story each month, but not in PA series.

I haven't been able to get the new night scenes to work.

Dang, that must be bugged. I'm sorry that I didn't have much time for testing before my flight. I'll put out a hot fix version when I get back. Thanks for pointing that out; any further bug reports would be helpful and I'll try to get to any issues by the time of the hot fix.

Yeah, it's a bit of a tricky situation for me. You're right about Newgrounds, that would be great if it was an option .
