This is a bonus image from Phinn that will probably only make it into the game in the harem bonus suite. Why? Well, as it happens the picture doesn't actually fit anywhere. If you play the Kimiko sex scene you'll see that this specific moment could never quite happen, but there's plenty of pictures in the Kim sex scene anyway and I may still add some more.


Programming progress:


I've made some fairly substantial progress on programming over the last week; it's pretty much the only part of the game I've been significantly working on since the last update, apart from writing a couple of small scenes. (I can't make graphics right now because my Iray computer's still in the shop.)


I have now implemented the plot up to day 17, including the interactive 'lake day' excursion on day 14, which is where the women's swimsuits come into play. I'm still tinkering with a few details in that scene, but I'm broadly pretty happy with it and I think it's working pretty well on a technical level.


I've also now implemented the framework for the Fumi sex scene. I haven't inserted the text, sounds and graphics yet and there's a technical problem I need to iron out, but this is significant progress on that scene and I expect a new alpha version will be out soon.


Other additions to the game include some new voyeur scenes and some new optional side-puzzles, so even though it doesn't feel like the last alpha came out all that long ago (it probably did, though - time flies) I think this upcoming alpha version will have quite a lot of new content.


How the flirting systems work:


This has come up a bit in discussion this week, so I thought I'd bring this up in a more comprehensive way here.


If you've played the alpha versions then you may have noticed that the flirting systems have been revised from the structure that was used in PAF. For a start there is no longer uniformity between the women; the three maids all use the same system as each other, but the other three each has slightly different requirements. Second, there are extra layers of complexity on top of simply building up your relationship (or "love score") with the women. I did this because I felt the existing gameplay formats were a bit too simple; you really only had to make a decision at the start about who you'd like to pursue. Now you may have to make some decisions in the course of your game in order to maximise the effectiveness of your flirting.


Here are some of the changes I've implemented:


  • Moods: I have made these more important than before. I felt they didn't have a big enough impact before, but now you should find that moods make a bigger difference, and need to be addressed.
  • The maids' lust: All three of the maids have to have their lust scores built up for the sake of the Rising, but they will also need to be built up to get sex scenes. There are multiple ways to do this, but the main one is efficient night service training.
  • Rio: She is demanding, and though she doesn't need her lust score built up she does insist Kenji meet some specific milestones in general achievements, mostly surrounding the training of the maids in sex and battle. Her moods also count for more.
  • Masami: Her moods count for a lot, but Kenji can't read her as easily as with the other women...
  • Ai: Who's Ai? There's nobody by that name living here.
