Nikki needs to shop for a dress for her "date" with Zach. But she doesn't know anything about feminine fashion! Who will help her?

Okay! Episode 44 is here - and thank you to everyone who voted in the most recent poll. There were so many passionate comments. Reading them made me happy and excited for the story. 😊

Sadly for Jessica, she was out of the running pretty early on. But then there was a fierce debate between Mom and Lauren. In the end, Lauren won - but only by 3%!

So, um... Well, you'll see. 💖

I really like most of the art in this episode, too. I can't wait to read what you think. 😊

All I can say Emory is you have ‘done it again,’ you continue to maintain your high standards both in story and beautiful, realistic images. Love the subtle ‘pov’ of Nikki’s cleavage when texting. iagaib you have wetted the appetite of your readers concluding the chapter with us all craving more. The new character lyou have introduced looks interesting, I love her assertive language (like to bend her over my knee), which foretells her dominant persona. It was also great to see the subtle, unconscious ways Nick/Nikki slips into feminine behaviours, from his voice, ‘girl mode when excited,’ to new habits, ‘reaching automatically for his/her lipstick. Also love how oblivious Nick/Nikki is to her not notable feminine derrière. Under the illusion that eating meat is helping him reclaim his masculine form, doesn’t recognise that the consumption of ‘meat,’ in this case at least, fast tracking and hastening his/her ‘defeat.’ Thanks for providing the brief reflective sharing of Nick/Nikkis thoughts on chiding her Mum over Jessica which makes sense if the choices taken in this fabulous story. Can’t wait to see what turns up in next episode, particularly with Lauren still on path of taking revenge and further embarrassing little Nikki. Well done again and thank you Emory.

So Lauren didn't EXACTLY keep her promise not to tell anyone, now, did she? And now Nikki's charms are already working on another one... I can't be the only person looking forward to Evie possibly seeing her in full girl mode after that page, lol. Also I'm glad Nikki finally called her mom! I voted her because I just wanted that so desperately, but I'm absolutely looking forward to Lauren's involvement too now...

Nikki is so messed up - in the first few panels she’s dressed very much as a girl then has to very consciously change into guy clothes, having had to find them first, and after the reflexive reach for the lipstick. And staying any longer with her dad is simply toxic, regardless of whether it affects her sexuality or Hutchinson’s hold over either or both of them. Her father is a lost cause. Yes, if she goes back to live with her mother it’s more likely to influence her towards the distaff side, but it will still be better than living with that self-pitying, self-destructive asshole who will only end up destroying them both. As it is, she remains both oblivious and delusional. It’s a highly dangerous state, and it won’t take much to knock her off kilter. You’re managing this story arc brilliantly, Emory. And I haven’t even mentioned the terrific subtlety in her facial expressions throughout yet - thought I’d save that till last. 😉 xx

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! SHE CALLED HER MOM!!! YESSSSSSS!!! LETS GOOOOOO!!!! I’m actually so excited to see how you incorporate both and i’m really glad that nikki’s mom is back! we need that good mama energy! Good god do i love the mom’s design and art style! You crush it everytime. Like the little things you do to show how they’re related or similarities in facial structure and such. I think it’s an incredible feat to create two faces and mimic on as the parent! Takes real skill at your craft!! My thoughts for how this goes tho are that nikki is gonna be reluctant, her mom’s gonna help her out of her shell, then she’s swatted down by lauren. That’s one way. The other way I think is more likely is that both nikki and her mom are trying on dresses, nikki isn’t into it that much then lauren comes in with evie and encourages nikki to get into it (obviously, wanting to be manly, she does). I feel like that second option is more conniving with a little splash of sincerity. Either way i’ll enjoy it!!! Plus we get to see nikki get teased more and pushed out of her comfort zone! It’s a win win! Loving the story Em!!

Thank you, Gemma! Yeah, I love to have a POV shot now and again. I hope it helps the readers 'inhabit' the characters a little. Nikki is seeing that angle every day! I'm already a big fan of Evie! 💀 I wanted to create a friend for Lauren who wasn't a stereotypical cheerleader... so I want with curvy, dominant goth girl. 😉 She definitely already has some ideas for "Nick." Yeah, it's really fun to show Nikki slipping further and further into subconscious feminine habits. The question is whether this is 'new' behavior or a return to more like her true personality under the brash, uber-arrogant persona her father helped craft.

Nope! 😂 Lauren definitely did NOT keep her promise. She at least blabbed to her bestie Evie. But, then, can we blame her? Apparently Nick was a big jerk to her when they were together - and judging from how Nick treated Zach, that's not too hard to believe. She thinks this is all a "hormone imbalance" so from her perspective, this is just karma. And, yeah, Evie is already into "Twink Nick" - so gorgeous Nikki will likely knock her socks off. 😊

Wow! I love the reintroduction of mom, an absolute necessity right now. Love Nikki standing up to dad, a step towards a separation there, another necessity. The introduction of Lauren and her very interesting friend at exactly this point is brilliant.

Thank you, Robert! Yeah, Nikki's at a real crossroads. Of course, that internal (and increasingly external) struggle between her identities is what makes her such a fun and hopefully compelling character. It's not just about the clothes or the makeup; it's about who she is at her core, and whether she can find acceptance for herself, from both others and within. You're right about her dad. He's definitely not providing the supportive environment she needs (besides the all-meat diet 🍖 lol)! But it's complicated, isn't it? There are those ties that bind, even when they're harmful. Nikki's could conceivably just go to the cops about what happened to her. She could stop taking the hormones. But she's doing this all because she loves her dad - even if he doesn't deserve it right now. I so appreciate your comments on the art! Capturing those little nuances in Nikki's expressions is so important to showing her turmoil - plus it's fun. 😁

Thank you, Nina! Nikki finally talking to her mom made me happy, too. After I saw how close the poll was, I just knew I had to incorporate both results somehow. And Nikki could absolutely use some positive maternal energy in her life. And yes! Making the mother-daughter similarities was challenging but super fun. 😊 You've got some great theories there! Both options have their appeal for Nikki's growth. But who knows? Lauren's part in this might not play out exactly as expected - after all, she's got a bit of a wild card with Evie now in the mix. You're right that Nikki's going to be pushed even more out of her comfort zone.... at this point she's practically in another country. GIRL COUNTRY. 😉

I liked the way you solved the close vote of the poll, very smart of you, so you make the majority happy. I also think it will give double play to the story. And the surprise of the new character and her strong personality, Evie (is the name chosen by chance a play on words with 'Evil'?) will give a triple play to the story. The art is very good, you never stop improving, going over the series to translate them, you can see the amazing evolution of your work. And as I've told you before, if your art is a 10, your writing is an 11! 🤩 Opinion-Tip-Personal Wish: I don't think I need to tell you this, but, don't rush with Nikki, she hasn't even started University yet, she has only been back from the Island for a couple of months, there is still a lot of story to tell and it's always more interesting when the 'victim' is still fighting against the change and evolving step by step... and..... ...Please remember Nikki is sporty, don't overdevelop her with Dr. fucking Mason's genes, we already have a lot of new women very developed! 😘 Go Laurikki!

I'm so happy to hear you've noticed the evolution in my work. It means a lot, especially when coming from someone who has been following the series closely. I continue to work hard on it! And don't worry, I have no intention of rushing Nikki's transformation. There's so much room for her to grow and evolve naturally over time, especially with university on the horizon. The story will unfold at a pace that feels true to her character's development. As for Nikki's physique, I hear you loud and clear. It's important that she remains athletic and true to her roots / genes! 😉
