How will this VN affect the work on Fantasy Dating?

MH is something I only recently started preproduction on. FD is still the primary VN I'll be working on weekly.

Why start preproduction now?

I'll be blunt. Fantasy Dating is an expensive project, over $1,200 was the initial investment and I've now crossed 600 hours total of working on it (400 for 0.1 plus, 100 for 0.2, and 100 more since). The whole reason I set up a Patreon was to offset the costs of ongoing development and eventually transition into making content creation my sole job.

However, the niche nature of FD's content means it will likely be less successful in drawing in patrons. For example, at the current rate of support, I won't recoup my initial costs for about 2 years. Not to mention, since it isn't profitable, every hour worked is essentially unpaid. Which is a reality I have accepted. I will NEVER compromise to make FD more mainstream. It will remain a hilariously bizarre journey filled with less popular kinks and fetishes.

What about Motherhood makes it more likely to be popular?

A main design goal of Motherhood is to be more mainstream, while still having my peculiar style of storytelling, characters, and plot. While I included a lot of options in FD, a few major points that potential players said caused them to avoid FD were the inability to see the female MC's face, male/masculine love interests, and unavoidable futanari. All of which were considerations when creating MH and my hope is that accommodating these more prevalent preferences will be more successful in garnering support.

Will the budget for MH dip into FD's?

No. Because of how 3d assets are sold, I've accumulated extra stuff I didn't need due to bundles, sales, and my own inexperience. I'm setting up to work with what I have plus a few selective small purchases if needed. If anything, FD has provided a solid base for me to build on.

Will the time allocated to work on MH dip into FD's?

You all ask tough questions. My intent is to continue to run Fantasy Dating at a loss, but that cannot continue indefinitely. I'll have a better idea of where I'm at in a few months time. Which will inform my decision on how to handle workflow, release schedules, and more. The current plan is to switch off releases, one month FD, the next MH. That would be a seriously difficult undertaking if I'm still limited by my other part-time job.

The backup plan is my current schedule of releasing every two months. Meaning there would be a four month gap between a release of one of the VN's. Which is the option I don't want to take but is a possibility I have to consider. Sorry to be a bit of downer, I love Fantasy Dating, you all clearly love FD, but the world runs on money, not love.

Level with me, lesbian only?

Yes, all of MC's love interests will be women with a few optional caveats. One, MC can engage in sexual activities with the best friend in front of the husband. Players can choose if the husband reacts neutrally (swinging), enthusiastically (hotwife), or is oblivious (cucking). To clarify, the husband would be interacting with his wife, not MC.

Two, there is the option to have one woman from this set of cousins be trans (MtF). As always, if a player selects this option, they can have MC decline to be penetrated. Speaking of...

Patrons will be able to pick which of these two lovely young ladies will have the option for a penis. I'll post the vote closer to release.

What does being more mainstream mean for kinks and fetishes that will be included?

Outside of the fantasy based ones, MH should have parity with FD. MH's MC may not live in a mansion, but there is always room to be kinky.

In fact, because of her personality, background, and preferences, this MC is a bit bolder.

For MH there will be less hand holding compared to FD. MH's sex scenes will jump right into certain content like water sports, femdom, breathplay, and more. Again, there will be choices if you're not into certain kinks, but these images should paint a clear picture that this VN will lean heavily towards MC being dominant.

Is the focus on the plot or the plot?

Both, the differences between Fantasy Dating and Motherhood are more in the format. FD is more like a big budget mini-series in that it requires heavily customized sets for the underground setting and designing non-human characters with their associated anatomical and cultural aspects. MH is closer to a drama TV show because it is in a familiar setting and has a faster pace due to the plot and characters.
