20Min - Entering Dancing Warrior Flow w/ Yogic Breath and Pada Power (Patreon)
Content
Hello Patrons!
Here we are in the middle of summer and I'm wrapped up in a down comforter at my computer because no matter how I set the AC it's either too hot or too cold. Obviously it's too cold right now!
Anyways, I know I said I was in love... was it with last week's practice??? But can't I be in love with this practice too?! I should know better. OF COURSE because it just keeps getting better and better from here.
This is just the beginning of the full Dancing Warrior session.
Let's do a little recap of the Summer Yoga Videos. I've created a webpage for the collection of 6 videos (+ one extra video I included from the $50 tier).
All of the Summer Yoga videos are available for the $8 tier via Patreon posts (and emails) but the webpage collections are for the $20+ tier, and I'll remind you the link here -- Back to the Body Summer Yoga Collection
1) Core Connection - 20min
2) Warrior Flow - 20in
3) Warrior Vinyasa - 30min
4) Warrior Namaskar - 40min
5) Low Crescent (Psoas and Shoulders) - 50min
6) Daily Sun Salutation - 20min
Next, we "leveled up" with Backbends (9 Yoga Asanas to King Pigeon)
Now, we enter Dancing Warrior Flow with Yogic Breath and Pada Power
Dancing Warrior Flow
In this session, we continue with:
- Warrior One opening through the chest and shoulders, by stretching the arms out to open to the sky
- Warrior One opening through the hips, by stretching into Lizard
- Warrior One foot position Pada one, by entering and exiting Warrior One repeatedly
We progress by:
- Synching the breath with movements-- inhaling the arms out and open to rise; exhaling the hands down to the mat; inhaling to an extended body in Plank; etc
- Sealing the openness in Warrior, by lowering the arms to clasp the hands behind the back
- Entering the dance in Warrior, by folding forward and bowing the head to the ground
I hope you enjoy the flow of this session. You will get to practice Crow in this video and I have a feeling you'll be ready to fly because the vinyasa sequences work a Crow preparation into the movements. After you exit Warrior, and before you step back to Plank or Down Dog, you'll position your knee on the back of your arm and hover. Then, from the hovering place, you'll extend the leg into the next pose.
And be prepared for a full 3-legged Chaturanga on the last vinyasa. You'll be ready for it! You just might not be expecting it (unless you read this note) :)
Stay tuned for more from me this week!
Coming up this week:
There is a counterpart to this Dancing Warrior Flow! I have a 20min cool-down video to share with you this week.
Also, I just did a 20-30min yoga session today which I'll upload for the Yoga Extras tier this week.
Oh, that reminds me... I renamed Behind the Scenes to Yoga Extras because it really is extra footage that I don't include in the weekly videos. Anything from my personal yoga sessions, to advanced poses that don't fit into the class, bloopers, and previews of projects before they're ready. I've finally gotten into the swing of adding more to that tier and it's been a lot of fun :)
I'll be working on another Custom Video for the month of July as well!
I hope you are all doing well. Send me a message if you have any questions, as always :)
