Gotta say , i forgot how good 1999 version looks. Its a lot moodier . Also the first anime adapts first 5 arcs only , the new 2011 anime adapts 7 arcs

The thing with Mito taking custody of Gon is not accurate to the Manga at all. Ging definitely abandoned Gon lmao.

That's actually not the case, page 35 of chapter 1 in the manga Mito says to gon "I'm sorry, Ging didn't abandon you I made him give you up". But honestly with Gings resources as a top hunter if he wanted to keep Gon he could have done that no problem. So in essence he still abandoned him.

I don't like how they make Gon look like a sad abandoned child in the 1st episode when his whole character is that he's not judgemental to a fault unless you're a hypocrite. You'd think from how 1999 diehards talk that the series didn't take many liberties.
