Guys you've struck gold with this one.

As a KC native, I’m always too thrilled when people mention us. Being Dave’s waypoint is an honor! If it helps: literally everywhere is incredibly far from Kansas City. Also love Jillian so much!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Gillian for a while about 12 years ago in LA, she's one of the nicest and funniest people I met while there, she really made a lasting impression.

As the crows fly! <3

I'm enjoying these as much as the main podcast. It manages to be light-hearted even when the stories concern unexplained deaths. Also, Jillian's voice reminds me of Julia Sweeney.

These are so fun, and I like all the guests you've been having on! Sometimes I can't tell if you're pretending not to know older language, though. Stuff I think is kinda normal to know? Maybe I've read too many Little House on the Prairie and other old timey shit or something so I know all these old idioms. I'm not _that_ much older than you guys. For instance, "Laid in" means to have stocked up on. Not actually lying down in. Obviously OBVIOUSLY, "lying down in" is a much more ridiculous and funny image!, so I don't know why I'd want you to be more informed. Anyway, I'll probably just post it here to soothe that itch in my brain, sorry.

To “lay in” means to purchase a store of something for the future. Although it is admittedly funnier to imagine a family lying down in a pile of peppermints.

Anyone know when candy makers stopped putting arsenic in candy? I know the famed “poison squad” started in the early 1900s

Throughly enjoyed this episode!

Poisoned candy really had it out for people in 1911 😂😂😂

Yes! And that bit just. Kept. Going. On. To “lay in” supplies is hardly a prehistoric idiom.

This worked fine for me the other day, but now it won't play?
