I saw the title and thought, “we’re not going to get much comedy in this one.” Only halfway through and have learned details I didn’t previously know. Might need to cleanse my palate after I finish with a light-hearted Rube episode.

Thank you for covering this. My mom has told me stories about her experiences during the ‘92 riots. She had just graduated from USC and drove out of LA to go stay with her sister and saw snipers all over the roofs. That being said, my mom is a badass who was also completely outraged at the police and even though she was a bit nervous about heading out of the city safely, she knew it had nothing to do with her. She didn’t speak to her own parents for 10 years because she married a black man and then had me with him. It’s insane that 1992 was 30 years ago. I’m only 27 myself and I feel so tired mentally from wondering when people will stop being garbage.

The average salary of a cop where I live in Colorado is 90 - 95k. The police dept budget makes up 45% of our cities annual budget. All that money to do this kind of shit. We will never learn
