2023-04-28 17:59:59 Minor detail, Adam (cuz it wouldn't be the internet without someone there to correct you) but this season came out in July 2022. The writers continue to absolutely nail the tone of the show - making Vought a blend of Disney & Fox Corp works frighteningly well. I'm sure plenty of people thought the stuff Gunpowder was saying at the gun show was a lot of gibberish, but as Augustin said, he's practically quoting verbatim the sort of stuff these RW kooks are fed daily by the wide variety of media entities dedicated to keeping a large portion of the US population both stupid and scared. And things are just getting warmed up...

I love watching Eric Kripke's interviews about The Boys - especially when he dives into the political snark of the show. He absolutely loves skewering the cretins who wholly buy into fearmongering and fascism - yet does so in a simple, astute way: by presenting them honestly, through the lens of how these sad, delusional fools truly see themselves. Loyalists! Patriots! Heroes! Then, as they chest-thump and flag-wave their way through the series, we get to sit back and gleefully watch them implode and/or destroy each other. With that in mind, it's no surprise that Homelander's episode-ending rant was creepily evocative of Trump's constant rhetoric and braggadocio: "I'm the only one who can save us!" "No one else is smarter or stronger than me!" "I'm never going to apologize for telling the truth!" The way that Antony Starr embodies Homelander's menacing insanity so perfectly while IRL being a total goofball...holy hell, that man should get all the awards. We've got six more episodes to go, homies - and it only gets better from here!

Hey guys, I’m not sure if any of you picked up on this cool detail. The woman that’s showing Hughie around in the home for supe kids, she says the teleporting kid is named Teddy Stillwell. Maybe one day he will seek revenge on homelander for killing his mom.

So many things I wanted to comment on, but the episode just kept going and *more* things would happen, so I'll settle for the two that stand out the most: First, Marvin's arc has been in these past two episodes; the scene between him and his ex-wife was so moving, especially considering where their relationship was back in season one. Second is Hughie's arc from the start of the previous episode, when he was on top of the world, to the end of this episode when he's ready - and, dare I say, eager - to go back to doing thing Butcher's way.

That also explains how he survived when Billy blew the house up

I saw Adam's face perk up but he didn't fully realize it. I guess Teddy teleported away. I always thought Homelander must have saved him but that never quite felt right. This makes way more sense.

I'm terrified and excited, and no idea where this is heading either. But I am here for it !
