What's up, homes! Welcome back to another reaction to the Star Wars series, Andor. Thank you Diego Luna for getting us the first four episodes early, so Hector didn't have to miss a thing. :)

Check back tomorrow for our reaction to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law!

Good to have Hector back!

Nurhadi Roshaimi

Yay Hector’s back!!! I’m so intrigued with Syril.. man’s at a crossroads now.

That does seem to be the main thread with a lot of the comments where people are finding story and character development boring and just want action. It is like the current trend of sh*t posting. I don't get it.

I've been waiting for Star Wars to have this kind of writing. Loving this series. So glad this series is 12 episodes! With most other Disney+ shows it is almost over at this point.

Jon Allanson

This is such a good show. I am really enjoying these episodes. A slow, luxurious build-up of tension. I am definitely invested in not just what the plot points are, but what happens to all these characters on all sides of these conflicts.

I'm loving this series. It's everything I've ever wanted in Star Wars post-original trilogy. The dialogue is smart, the music is good, the cinematography looks great, & the practical sets add to the realism. They are rightly taking their time in setting things up. Nothing feels rushed like they have with Obi-Wan or the other series. Until this series I don't think I've ever really felt the true scale of the Empire. The rebellion in Andor feels small. The Empire feels big & bulky. The aim of the proto-Rebels seems like a fool's errand. All of it is expertly handled. "The pace of oppression outstrips our ability to understand it." What an amazing line.

I have been saying this for a couple decades... 'Star Wars' is the story of a whole Galaxy. Trillions of beings on billions of planets. Millions of ace pilots, millions of generals, millions of admirals, millions of smugglers. If you take all the movies and series we've seen so far we know about like 100 people. Time for MORE stories about the other ten thousand heroes and villains. I loved Rogue One and love Andor for this reason.

I think it's important to note that Syril isn't Imperial. He worked for that corporation with the blue uniforms, which was contracted by the Empire, then he got fired when the Empire came in after he fucked up. So he's currently unemployed, as his mom repeatedly brings up. So he can't really "defect" at this point. However, based on how his mom was talking about his "Uncle", and the dialogue there, I think he may get involved in the criminal underworld.

Yea I saw one guy on twitter call him an "authoritarian fanatic". Like what? The guy was just trying to do his job...

Jay McFly

I don't think Karn is going to get involved with the Rebels. He's not that type of guy. To him it's all Cassian's fault that he's out of a job. I think he'll more likely end up with the Empire.

Jay McFly

Was he though? I think an argument could be made that he did more than just his job. He was ordered to stand down and yet he didn't. He tried to control a situation he thought he was well equipped to handle but as it turns out he really wasn't. The dialogue he had with the guy who he involved to investigate the situation did make it seem like he WAS very autoritarian. Don't know about being a fanatic though but he did modify his uniform. I've encountered people like that in real life and they all had a thing for being very authoritarian and doing things their way. Just saying.

Guy is definitely a bootlicker to an extent. However, to be fair, while we know as the audience that his supervisor was correct about his hunch for why those corpocops died, from Syril's perspective it'd just seem like a lazy/corrupt cop coming up with a story to try and cover up the deaths of two of his coworkers.

Loved the episode and am loving the pace. I love slow burns and the tension and pressure everyone seems to be experiencing is fantastic. The two most interesting characters to me atm are Syril and Nemik. They're such contrasting people. Syril is clinging to the system for the control it gives and how it simplifies the world, but Nemik is absolutely desperate to break the Empire's hold. Loving the show

I’m so glad we are getting a show like this, it’s exactly what the Star Wars world needs. Yes we will get action packed moments coming up but it’s like what you all said, this show is taking its time to make you care about the characters before it rips your heart out lol I’ve been immersed into this world since episode one And I love how everything lined up perfectly where Hector didn’t miss an episode! Yay

Ryan Noakes

Definitely enjoying diving deep into these characters vs just pointless pew pew splosions for the sake of bright flashing things. On a side note, you guys really latch on to the most random stuff, it's really entertaining to watch you go on about the different pronunciations of "schedule". 😜🤣

Thurrak

The scenes where you ask yourself, why are we getting this scene? Are the best scenes. You know that somewhere down the line it's going to pay off but you just aren't sure how. I love the intrigue.

Cassie Banks

This character gives me the creeps on the same level of darkness of Palpatine. The sad thing is when I think of how messed up he is, I can't help but think his mother has EVERYTHING to do with it. Like at a serial killer level. I fully expect him to get a job at the Empire and become one of their most evil villains. I'm really loving the Andor series, even though it's almost too much like our current situation in the US with one side trying to legislate all our freedom to chose away so they can control us with their dogmatic religious laws. Religious freedom is not religious freedom when only one religion is forcing their laws on others.

Ryan Waugh

While we're joking about crossover, one of those goats they were tending was clearly Jake. The devil Madisynn makes a deal with.

Tim Arnold

No predictions from me... I'm just enjoying the show. I really love getting to see people living their lives in this universe. All of the situations this episode visited with the various characters are really interesting to me.

Jake Samuels

The corporate and Imperial scenes for some reason are really making me think of, like, a workplace drama. Like, take the Star Wars stuff out of it and I could almost imagine seeing it on the BBC.
