Always an absolute delight to get in any showdown, you will have (Monster Level) number of egg sacks on the board and a guaranteed double that if you are facing the Spidicules herself. They represent a gain of Web Silk, which is a resource that can sometimes be converted into hide/leather (if you have Spidicules in the game) and otherwise can be useful for any place where generic resources are required. They also make a good stockpile of less valuable resources which you can use to sacrifice when you are required to lose resources by some monster or timeline event. Bland generic resources, even if you can't directly use them in a crafting recipe, are always very valuable.

The other benefit of these is the gaining of the Priority Target Token, which will allow you to redirect the monster's attention back to your tanking survivor if it has gotten distracted and/or fixated on the wrong target (except for the Ding Dong crit, that White Lion isn't going to change its mind over getting revenge on its castrator). 

So if you want to use them that way; you will set up your tank next to an egg and have them be the one to open it. This is often the better choice anyway because having the wrong survivor become the priority target is a nightmare. Just have someone ready to encourage.

During the Spidicules fight, because these eggs have a high chance of giving the priority target, you can use them to "taunt" the Spidicules back towards your group. That creature is very prone to a form of long range ambushing where it will often skitter away and try to stay out of each. Smashing eggs makes mommy Spidicules mad a lot of the time though and that can be very advantageous. So you always want to pop every single egg during the Spidicules showdown fight (and when you have the Silk Mill innovation all Web Silk can become hide).
