588 The Cost of Wisdom (Patreon)

Denizens of the Tower! An accomplished spellcaster and a friend to the community of Spearhome named Margoth lives outside of town because the nature of his experiments carries a considerable amount of risk. Margoth built an underground research laboratory under his cabin. There he meddles with the very forces of nature in an attempt to one day wield them.

Alas, the wizard found an untimely fate under his home after trying to harness the power of a storm. No one knows what happened to the quirky mage but some people in town heard a faraway explosion coming from his estate. The town's constable, Yorkin, went there to explore but found the place too dangerous for himself or his volunteer guards. Now he offers a reasonable reward to adventurers willing to explore the laboratory.

This is a level 5 adventure with dungeon-crawling in a wizard's underground laboratory, problem-solving with nasty arcane traps, and the chance to do a great service to the community.
