Who Dares Explore the Dragon's Nest? It is meant for failure! (Patreon)

Traveler! The peace of a miners' settlement called Grayquartz City is in danger after a young red dragon moved to the mountain where they carry out the majority of their prospecting activity. the city's economy is frozen as the territorial dragon keeps miners away and damages de infrastructure in place. The city has sent a few explorers to seize the situation but some of them have perished after the dragon chased them away.

Unbeknownst to all, the red dragon nurtures twelve red dragon eggs she stole from her parents' nest. The red dragon comes from a mountain range thousands of miles to the north. There, her parents had a terrible battle that absorbs all of their attention. The eggs in the nest were neglected so the young dragon took them all away and plans to raise her siblings.

This is a level 8 adventure with a bit of exploration, combat, and the opportunity to visit an impromptu dragon lair! Here's a low-def preview of this illustration:

Here's a close-up of the lair's entrance. A stream of molten lava goes through the first chamber. The red dragon placed the eggs near the exhaust of a mostly inactive volcano.

In the volcano's caldera, a small but constant flow of molten rock keeps the mountain alive. The twelve eggs need the searing temperatures to hatch. The young red dragon is willing to risk her life to protect the eggs. Is there a way to make a deal with the dragon?
