I took Brooke for her word that she lied to Lucas about being pregnant as retaliation for him saying she slept around and that she told him the truth because she felt bad when he told her he was going to stand by her no matter what and that her crying was due to everything that just happened, him and Peyton cheating, pregnancy scare, her lying. Lucas did say that he would stand by her no matter what she decided to do, so I'm not sure why she would lie about her lie and really is pregnant.

Fair enough. I feel like that's how I'm supposed to take it and that I'm just reading too much into it. Thanks! :)

For me this storyline was for Dan and Lucas, to move them, finding out Dan wanted an abortion and seeing what Dan had locked in his desk. I mean Dan just happened to drive by, sure. Thinking about the pregnancy beyond this epi didn't even cross my mind.

I didn't think Brooke was pregnant when I originally watched this episode. I thought Brooke was crying because she was emotional about the pregnancy scare plus how Lucas handled the scare (he wasn't the best boyfriend but he was vulnerable/supportive with her when he after she said she was pregnant). Not exactly as Brooke worded it but she basically told Lucas before that he was her first serious relationship even though she was with other people before him. Lucas rudely throws that her face this episode (even though he was cheating with Peyton while Brooke wasn't cheating during their relationship and she hasn't been with anybody since they broke up). Yes Brooke did have a pregnancy scare but when the doctor called Lucas had just called her out for being someone that slept around. Brooke shouldn't have lied about the results but Lucas was trying to shame her for being with other guys before him which was so uncalled for in the moment knowing he cheated on her when they were together and knowing she didn't. Always thought it was interesting to see the juxtaposition of relationships this episode (specifically Brooke and Lucas, Haley and Nathan). You have Brooke and Lucas having a pregnancy scare (though they aren't a couple anymore) while you have Haley and Nathan talking about the seriousness of their relationship and telling each other their feelings (they said "I love you" to each other for the first time this episode). Lucas was essentially Brooke's first real relationship even though she was with other guys yet he was cheating. Nathan had dated and slept with others before Haley but Haley is his first serious relationship which he acknowledges this episode and he doesn't want to mess it up. Regarding you talking about predictions for the Season Finale for Season 1 well when Season 1 was originally airing by this episode the only thing I felt for certain was something was going to happen with Haley and Nathan. To me it felt like they were setting up that Haley and Nathan were possibly going to sleep together in the finale just because we've seen how their relationship has been progressing (it became serious fast and Haley being in Nathan's life clearly has changed him for the better despite his other family drama which is ironic because at first he admittedly only pursued her to bother Lucas). Other than that I wasn't sure about what the storylines for the finale would be.
