おまたせ!(Sorry for making you wait!)
新しいアパートに引っ越して、先週は動画を編集する時間がなかった!
atarashii apaato ni hikkoshite, senshuu wa douga wo henshuu suru jikan ga nakatta
(I've moved to a new apartment and didn't have time to edit the video last week.)

Anyway, in this lesson I'm teaching you how to say "said" even more informally than "って言ってた".
Also this "という / っていう" can be used as "called". (e.g. fish called "blowfish")
There are more advanced usages of this という but we'll cover that in the future.

Hi Misa Sensei! I tried making a sentence using the concepts "B called A", "someone said", "tari form", and the "potential form of suru." I tried making a formal and informal version. I heard someone say that in a town called Hokane, you (oneself) can do things like visit the hokane checkpoint, soak in the Miyanoshita onsen, and see lake lake ashinoko. Informal (both what the person said and me quoting it) = 「箱根」っていう町で自分は箱根関所に行ったり、宮ノ下の温泉で入浴したり、 芦ノ湖を見たりできるって。 Formal = 「箱根」という町で自分は箱根関所に行ったり、宮ノ下の温泉で入浴したり、 芦ノ湖を見たりできますと言っていました。 Does the verb 聞くhave to be used for "I heard" or can we just use "someone said" like we learned in the last two lessons? I'm not sure if I used "dekiru" correctly here. Is there usually supposed to be a "ga" particle with dekiru? Any tips on this would be helpful! Also, is it ok to use にも or とか instead of "tari form" to get effectively the same sentence? I've seen those used in certain manga instead of tari. Thanks so much for all your help! This was another excellent lesson :)

Hi Misa, when using というthe say A called B, you use hiragana only and not the kanji for言う?If my assumption is correct what is the reason for this ? Thanks for your time.
