I’ve been slowing down a lot while I’m drawing. Some of my friends produce such unbelievably lovely drawings and that inspires me to invest more in my own pencil work. The extra time I’m taking to be more mindful of my marks isn’t just a practical choice, it really makes me enjoy drawing more. The intensely slow pace of it feels like a feature and not a bug. The time spent on the couch with my sketchbook and cat is time well spent, regardless of the outcome.

My lifelong goal is to fall deeper in love with the process of making art. To enjoy just dragging a pencil across paper. To find joy in seeing marks appear from nothing. The fact it produces imagery that I can share with others is a wonderful bonus!
