This color palette was a forgone conclusion. I always love an opportunity to do an open blue sky and trees. I'm looking at references from Glacier National Park specifically since that's where my old assistant Julie always talked about going hiking.

There are still lots of fixes and additions to make before I start tightening down the screws too much. For me, this is the best time to start picking reference and making plans on how to wrap up the whole piece in style.

As an extra conceptual note, I always pick which direction the character is facing (left or right) based on whether they are looking forwards or backwards in time. In this case Advachiel is looking forwards towards the future. For the Zodiac series, I've been intentionally mixing that up in regular intervals with every 3 pieces having one facing left, one facing right and once straight on.
