As a Libra myself, I wanted this piece to represent a lot of my favorite aesthetics. The main themes of this piece are balance and order. The cosmic order of the celestial bodies is on display as well as a balance between constructed and natural materials.

To give a sense that this figure represents balance, I wanted to incorporate dissonant elements like the stripes and floral patterns mixed into its design. The clash between these different motifs is an attempt to speak to the way in which we are composed of a conflicting and clashing components ourselves. That's an important theme for me in my own identity, so it's one that I want to be on full display for a piece that I'm likely to identify very closely.

Gencon and Dragoncon are coming up fast, so I've got about a week to get big progress on this if I'm going to complete it before the end of the month. Speaking of balance, trying to balance my own time between ongoing art for this project, the Book of Watchers and business travel is a real tough one. One of these days, maybe Zuriel will help me figure it all out.

Best,

-Pete

Awesome. Going back to kind of an Emanation aesthetic; I like that.
