For me, this is the best episode up until now. Bill in the game is sick. But this version was great as well. Usually when TV shows or films stray from the source it doesnt work. But this does. And the note that Bill leaves for Joel is so fucking good. It set him on his journey. And will be a part of the reason why he does what he does at the end of the show. 'It's his job to protect people'.

holy fuck, the way they changed the narrative of bill writing a letter to joel instead of frank writing to bill is amazing. I feel like this show, bill is going to be the tipping point of when joel saves eli in the end. "That's why men like me and you are here, we have a job to do, i leave you all my weapons, used them to keep tess safe" those words are def going to come back to joel...there was never that connection between joel and bill in the game cuz bill didn't die in the game, this version made it more impactful for me imo
