I’m so enjoying this re-read. It’s actually the first time I’ve read the books, from the start, in the right order. I’ve read each book many times, but I started with ASoS, then went backwards, then back to Feast...then random repeats. Anyway, this is a heap of fun. I can almost never join live because these start at 7am Monday morning my time. Just one comment on Tyrion XIII - did you notice that Tyrion’s attempt to rouse the city watch is very close to the opposite perspective of Meribald’s broken man monologue from Feast? We only hear lords calling on their men to ‘form up’ three times in the series so far - in the broken man monologue, here in Tyrion’s chapter, and in a very different context when Asha and her gang escapes Deepwood. It’s tempting to see the watchmen and sellswords as craven in this case, because we like Tyrion, but really, like the Hound, they’re just scared. George is so clever with this stuff!
